"#MeToo is over if we don’t listen to ‘imperfect victims’ like Amber Heard"; Gross article denies Men can be victims of abuse & encourages people to never believe Men. Individuals such as this are why so many Men feel uncomfortable about opening up or seeking support.

If it takes this much pain & suffering for someone as wealthy/famous as Johnny Depp to get justice, imagine the amount of struggling the average man goes through in a False Accusation

Carolyn B Maloney has been one of those who constantly talks about the wage gap, so I'm enjoying her loss.

She was also a powerful champion for the ERA, which would make huge gains towards equality for men (for example it ends the male-only draft, changes custody law, and improves funding for male abuse victims). So I am mourning her loss.

Nadler is pro-ERA but he's not on the warpath to make it happen - certainly not in the dogged way that Maloney was.

Yeah, and the 1964 Civil Rights Act made workplace discrimination illegal. No, wait the 1964 CRA was the 'enabling legislation' for Affirmative Action, something the CRA itself quite clearly forbid.

The ERA would fare no better than the 1964 CRA. It would be used to cause more discrimination against men.

Are we talking about the ERA with the Hayden Ryder, which would require all laws be gender equal unless they benefitted women?

The ERA measures equality the same way feminists usually do. Privileging Women is equality. Actual neutrality or privileging men is inequality.

Don’t mourn for Maloney.

Anyone who makes a political position about their sec rather than just their qualification doesn’t deserve to hold a political position.

Zero accountability.

[–]dekadoka 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, Carolyn, it's because of misandry, and you have no one to blame but yourself and your shitty worldview.

[–]ijustdontcare74 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Want to win…be a better candidate!!! You lost because the voters don’t like you…deal with it instead of whining and trying to blame others for your mistakes and shortcomings.

That kind of reminds me of Hillary Clinton. Someone I don't like on a personality level.

[–]dzkrf 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This seems like a child after a verbal spar, who is losing, and all they can come up with is "yeah, well you're ugly!"

I have yet to meet a feminist with a retort that exceeds the complexity of a 5 year old whose toy just got taken away.

[–]omegaphallic 2 points3 points4 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Like almost all America politicians they both suck.

Misogyny! When you race with a saggy face, it's misogyny! 🐮

[–]ZekalMacabre 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Wah wah, I lost! Must have been misogyny!"

What a sore fucking loser.

Elizabeth Warren pulled this same shit when she didn't get the presidential nomination despite the fact that women didn't vote for her either

I mean, it was that or aliens and SETI has a better lobby.

  • Addressing a crowd of supporters after being handily defeated by her former friend and colleague of 30 years, Maloney argued that the twelfth congressional district would lose out because it’s no longer represented by a woman.

  • “I’m really sad that we no longer have a woman representing Manhattan in Congress,” Maloney said, according to the New York Post. “In Congress, it is that when women are at the table, great decisions get made.”

Say what?

  • Maloney then gave a shout-out to great female New Yorkers like Shirley Chisholm and Geraldine Ferraro, who “fought sexist systems and misogyny that continues today, as we know from my own campaign.”

  • Nadler easily bested Maloney: with 99 percent of the vote counted, 55.4 percent compared to Maloney’s 24.4 percent. Democratic candidates Suraj Patel and Ashmi Seth secured 19.1 percent and 1 percent, respectively. Nadler will face Republican nominee Michael Zumbluskas in the November general election.

So the vote was not even close. And it looks like she did not even get the women's vote.

[–]Baboon_Stew 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm just sad that both of them couldn't lose.

Sour grapes from an obviously inferior candidate.
