So...a bit out of time, I admit. For those who've seen it, it digs deep into the gender roles of the 1950s and 1960s. And its brilliantly written, IMO.

One thing that struck me is how it really shows men getting fucked--losing their children, forced into narrow, stifling roles, paying out the nose when divorcing (though, in fairness, the characters were fairly well to do and able to manage it).

Still, it struck me that the commentary about the show was exclusively about sexism towards women--which was absolutely a big thing in the show. But it wasnt exclusively about that at all.

Did anyone else have a similar watching experience?
