Friday September 23rd I retained a divorce attorney. Wife found out. Called me same day with threats of arson (to friends house) and getting me fired from job. She called my employer to get me fired, didn’t work, my employer had my side. September 26th I dropped the kids off with her. Police were called. She tried to press domestic violence charges against me. Police wouldn’t let her. I left. September 27th or 28th she went on a crusade to get charges filed against me and was successful. She got domestic violence 3rd degree to stick somehow. I found out. Voluntarily turned myself in. I bailed myself out same day. I’ve been transparent with my employer. Employer didn’t fire me but they did suspend me until I get everything cleared up. My question is… I’m financially tapped out and unemployed now. I still owe my divorce attorney more money. My court date is the beginning of November and I’m going to work some side jobs to try and survive so could I get these charges dropped or found not guilty with a public defender as I do not have the money to hire a criminal defense attorney at the moment.
