Growing up my mom used to make breakfast and brush our hair while we ate because we were all tender headed and woke up super late. I didn't like it as a kid but as an adult I appreciate the memories.
We baked brownie together every Friday and has a movie night.
Every time someone came home they would yell "Hi I'm home!" And everyone would greet them with a hug and kiss.
My mom told us stories from the Koran while we ate cookies we baked together.
She also put Vaseline and cotton gloves on our hands before bed in the winter because we had severe chapping.
We always are dinner together.
Everyone co slept. I slept in the same bed as my sister until I was 16 and she went to college.
These are some things that made my family feel special, warm, and appreciate my mother's role as the heart of the family. There's a lot I would like to repeat with my own family but I would like ideas to add that maybe you do it your family used to do. Thank you!
