Men aren’t going to be there for women in traditional ways and most feminists I know are losing their $hit over it.

Paywall... What did she actually accuse the lawyer of?

[–]Batbuckleyourpants 32 points33 points34 points 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Different source.

Ms Giuffre said she had "long believed that I was trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein to Alan Dershowitz. However, I was very young at the time, it was a very stressful and traumatic environment, and Mr Dershowitz has from the beginning consistently denied these allegations. "I now recognise I may have made a mistake in identifying Mr Dershowitz.

[–]AirSailer 51 points52 points53 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

So basically Epstein flew her somewhere, she fucked a guy, then later said it was Dershowitz and is now saying it was probably somebody else.

I would say this is a good thing that she admitted it. It's also a good thing that she not get slammed for admitted it was a mistake. However, the real issue lies in the damage the false claim caused when the media behaved as if it was a fact.

[–]BriefcaseOfBears 47 points48 points49 points 3 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

She didn't fuck someone, she was raped by someone. She was a child sex slave, and sex slaves can't consent.

[–]mikesteane 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

And later, she was recruiting for Epstein.

[–]BriefcaseOfBears1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Ah, she must've wanted the initial rape then. Case closed, great job detective.

[–]mikesteane 10 points11 points12 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Actually, I think she did. She was 17, which is above the age of consent in most areas of the world. I think she knew what she was doing and was never a victim.

[–]Angryasfk -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Given this admission, perhaps she was “mistaken” about being 17 too.

That said, it could simply have been fear of being countersued by a top lawyer that made her retract.

However we can’t “just take her word for it” anymore can we.

[–]qemist 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wasn't she above the age of consent?

[–]BriefcaseOfBears 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sex slaves can't consent regardless of their age...

[–]onlyidiotsgoonreddit 6 points7 points8 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not as unrealistic as it sounds. Dershowitz was actually involved in the Epstein cover up operation, but not the operation that involved recording leaders having sex with minors. Dershowitz and a team of the most famous lawyers in America represented Epstein in his hundreds of charges in West Palm Beach. It's possible that Epstein was able to hire him merely because he had money. But that is unlikely. Not everyone with money can hire the most famous lawyers in America on a moment's notice. Dershowitz was involved in the operation and the cover up, but probably had nothing to do with the underage girls.

[–]NeoNotNeo[S] 27 points28 points29 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I’m posting I’m not saying the trafficking of young women doesn’t exist. However, I am saying due process is necessary. And its not an ooopsie. These are very serious allegations made with the help of very serious people.

[–]Forcetobereckonedwit 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Exactly. Feminists now push their agenda of misandry right past blatant misuse of the judicial system. How do they sleep at night?

[–]WingsofSky 11 points12 points13 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Since it's not a "woman" they are attacking. Then it's okay.

[–]DeeeetroitSportsFan 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess the check cleared.

[+][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The only thing is with celebrities I have stopped believing it. These celebrities have immense power to buy off evidence, force them to drop the case.

Then there are false allegations for clout and blackmail. That's why stopped believing in them.

[–]SteveBlakesButtPlug 7 points8 points9 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Everyone is using this a case of false allegation, when it was most likely a true allegation and he paid her under the table. He has been involved in this rape shit from the start.

I understand supporting men's rights, but Alan can go get fucked with the rest of humanity.

[–]UninterestingFork 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't think it's under the table... it's just a settlement

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/feb/15/prince-andrew-and-virginia-giuffre-reach-settlement-in-principle

“The parties will file a stipulated dismissal upon Ms Giuffre’s receipt of the settlement (the sum of which is not being disclosed).”

It added that Andrew would make a “substantial donation” to Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights.

[–]Fearless-File-3625 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Andrew settled not Dershowitz.

Different allegations.

[–]Angryasfk 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s amazing the number of people who confuse this on this thread. She made quite a few allegations against different people. None have been tested in court though.

[–]allmyghtt 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

A settlement being paid is a known outcome...

So just as easily as this could be him being a rapist and paying for silence it also could be her black mailing him and getting that pay check and with something like this both are eqaully plausible and easy to get away with.

There's somthing to be said that it's almost always people with money..

It is perfectly fine for people to question the validity of either person here

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. We don’t know the truth here. Her backtrack does cast doubt on her other claims though since she was “adamant” but this one too.

It may well be fear of the counter suit, and he is a top lawyer (this didn’t apply to Prince Andrew btw) - I wouldn’t be surprised if this is statement was to stop him either suing her &arse off or bankrupting her in ongoing court cases. She could also be committing a form of extortion (she’s made considerable money from this before). We do not know for certain which one is true.

[–]qemist 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Mmmm.

This email exchange alone 100% killed her case.

Giuffre to Sharon Churcher at Mail On Sunday in 2011 soliciting help selling a book deal:

Just wondering if you have any information on you from when you and I were doing interviews about the J.E. story. I wanted to put the names of some of these assholes, oops, I meant to say pedo's, that J.E. sent me to. With everything going on my brain feels like mush and it would be a great deal of help!

And Churcher's response:

Don't forget Alan Dershowitz...JE's buddy and lawyer..good name for your pitch as he repped Claus von Below and a movie was made about that case...title was Reversal of Fortune. We all suspect Alan is a pedo and tho no proof of that, you probably met him when he was hanging put with JE.

[–]SteveBlakesButtPlug 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh wow, didn't know that at all. I appreciate the information. Seriously, thank you 👍

[–]tragedyfish 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I 100% believe that Prince Andrew sexually assaulted this woman when she was underage. And now she has been bribed or threatened into rescinding her accusation.

I think this is happens only rarely, but nothing will convince me otherwise in this particular case. Randy Andy is scum.

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

She didn’t rescind it against him, but this lawyer Dershowitz. It may help to read the title.

Whether or not ”Randy Andy” had sex with her when she was 17, or sex with her at all, I have no idea (and neither do you). They have clearly met though, as shown in the photograph.

It’s unclear whether she has met Dershowitz though. But if anyone has pressured her to retract, it would be him.

[–]Forcetobereckonedwit 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link

I can't imagine the mental gymnastics that female had to go through in order to even get as far as admitting that she made a mistake.

[–]matrixislife 4 points5 points6 points 3 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

When the person she accused of rape has proof that they weren't there when she said he was, and is a lawyer who's going to sue her into the ground.

[–]Forcetobereckonedwit 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lol, let's hope so. I've had about enough of this crap.

[–]CircleToShoot 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

This is from when she was a minor being ferried around the place for sex work? She probably walked that off.

[–]matrixislife 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

If she's emotionally invested in it then it becomes even more important to her to make sure she's got the right person in the frame for it. Otherwise, as we see here, it taints any other accusations she's likely to make.

[–]CircleToShoot -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I can tolerate this damaged person to be damaged after what she’s been through

[–]matrixislife 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

"Your right to throw a punch ends at my nose".
I can certainly understand her being traumatised, that doesn't make false or incorrect accusations tolerable. If it had been settled then the question would still be open, as it is this is a complete 180, and with her own lawyer being daft enough to say that the accusation had cause suffering:

“I know that Alan Dershowitz has suffered greatly from the allegation of sexual abuse made against him – an allegation that he has consistently, and vehemently, denied

then that opens her up for suit for emotional damage, the very thing she was suing him for.

You might be happy to forgive her mistake, you weren't affected by it. We'll have to see if the lawyer involved is of the same mind.

[–]CircleToShoot 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

We’re actually talking about the same person here, only I’m a bit more clued in. She’s passing on the trauma she was exposed to. She’s not having a laugh. You want to really point your finger guns, you’re going back to who subjected her to cruelty. That’s a life sentence.

[–]matrixislife -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Maybe you should read that quote.

[–]CircleToShoot 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Why? Did nothing for me the first time.

[–]matrixislife 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Because she is no longer the only victim in this situation, she's the aqggressor who has just publicly admitted to screwing up, and her lawyer has just admitted that harm was caused.

So it doesn't matter how "clued in" you think you are, that's a slam dunk in court. And it doesn't matter that she is "passing on her trauma", that's just doublespeak for harming someone else, like abusers do.

[–]Mother-Key582 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And I don’t think many guys even try that hard to be that manipulative. Yes there are some, don’t get me wrong. But there’s FAR more women. And society just fucking refuses to admit it.

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Assuming she did and hasn’t been threatened. It’s different coming up against a top lawyer as opposed to Prince Andrew.

That said, I don’t know if any of her allegations were really true either.

[+]drippybill 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How could people actually side with her

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The story is that she was groomed and “trafficked” (I don’t like the way the meaning of this term gets continually pushed) by Epstein. And that she had sex with various high profile men when she was underage, supposedly at Epstein’s behest.

Now Epstein was convicted and imprisoned.
So this is a lot more than rumours and a bad reputation on his part. There’s also that photograph of her with Prince Andrew. So she at least met him. This has given her a level of credibility she may not otherwise have had.

[–]JacktheRipperColour -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I can't remember where I saw it and I'm not justifying anything, but I heard she was no Saint.

[–]mikesteane 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

She did the same thing as Ghislaine Maxwell for 3 years. However, public opinion vilifies Maxwell and takes Giuffre as a victim.

[–]JacktheRipperColour -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Money !!

[–]Angryasfk 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well Maxwell is the daughter of THE Maxwell, and journos haven’t forgotten how he took money from the journos retirement fund to try to keep the paper afloat. I don’t blame them for being angry about that, but I suspect that much of the anger and bitterness has transmitted to his daughter. Journalists/reporters tend to have a high level of in group bias about stuff like that.

You’ve got a good point there though. Is she a “victim” or “victimiser”? It’s actually possible to be both.

[+][deleted] -8 points-7 points-6 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

“Whoops looks like I accidentally undid this guys pants and had sex with him!”

[–]Angryasfk1 points 3 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

The issue is that she claims she was below the legal age of consent in the jurisdiction where it happened, although only by a few months apparently. So even if she was willing, she cannot give consent to sex legally, certainly if the man is more than a couple of years older than her, which all these guys certainly were.
