Could a lot of sexist men be that just because they are hyper focused on sex?

Always been a thing but now we have a word for it, weaponised incompetence.

[–]EBZ1722 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Totally unsurprising, unfortunately this is the result of end stage mass consumerism and the feminization of men.

If you socialize men from birth to reject all attributes of masculine identity they usually turn into miserable depressed losers.

[–]Slyfer_Seven 3 points4 points5 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What attributes of masculine identity make you clean your shit up?

[–]EBZ1722 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You need to possess a basic, fundamental level of dignity in order to get your shit squared away and start behaving like a man. So many young men in my generation do not possess this basic dignity because society has robbed them of it to appease a shitty political narrative.

I don't believe dignity is inherently masculine, but I think I get your point

I don't understand why some men take pride in not knowing shit, like how to take care of a home. I have a few friends like that, and I swear they would burn their pasta if they tried anything more advanced than microwave dinners.

"I don't need to know how to cook, my future wife will teach me". Fuck off! Cooling is great and most of all fun. You can make so much tasty food. I made a mean Shepherd's pie a week ago. It's such an ego boost inviting friends over to dinner and all they can do is praise my food.

Not knowing how a washing or dishing machine works is just pathetic. Literally something a 5 year old can figure out. You put clothes in, then deterrent, and then start it. I don't even sort by textile and color. All dark or white of it goes in and comes out clean just fine. If an idiot like me can do it so can you.

Making the bed I don't see much point in though, so I tend to skip out on that. Just seems unnecessary outside of it looking nicer. But I'm all alone in my bedroom so whatever.

Don't be proud about being helpless. Be a man who can take care of yourself properly.

My ex's mom, when we was 24, would clean the entire kitchen after him when he made a huge mess and would put sunscreen on him before he left. He destroyed a hoover because he used it to clean milk. He didn't clean his shit marks in the toilet. He made no decisions even when pressed and whined about me in front of his friends that I was bossy. These things are just about basic self-respect. The mom enabled him of course but for fuck sake, he was a grown man.

I still have issues with sex because I forced myself to be with him for years, since he would kick me out in the middle of the night if I didn't. I read articles like this and I have such a strong urge to tell him because I never did.

Vice, try making a single article grounded in reality challenge (impossible)

[–]Barneysparky 1 point2 points3 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you are not that guy the article wouldn't bother you.

Did these men live in apartments before these women moved in with them? Did they see the inside of them? I dont get the shock.

Heres another gem theyre pushing in the sidebar https://www.vice.com/en/article/wxnyey/what-is-polyamorous-fuckboy

Vice reading like HuffPost...

They often change their behaviour after the woman moves in

[–]LadyFerretQueen[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They put in some effort before unloading on to the woman or in my case, one lived with his parents (that's normal for people in their 20s in slovenia) and the other lived in a tiny room in London, which was maintained fine, because it was just one tiny room. In London every affordable place is a dump anyway so I couldn't tell.

Thats parents fault.

[–]LadyFerretQueen[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To a point. More importantly, it's not what any partner should tolerate.

This isn't nothing new. This article is just another attempt to push what Rollo coined "chore play" on men. Basically weaponizing sex into a reward mechanism.

Several factors are missing. First This is the result of feminists (and the economy) attempting to change natural gender roles. I bet if these women weren't working and trying (or having to) to go 50/50, making the bed and laundry wouldn't seem so bad.

Second everyone has small ways about them that begin pissing you off after moving in with them. Everyone from my old roommate to my wife had bad habits. You just have to try to fix the ones you can and learn live with the ones you can't.

For example this article talks about making the bed and doing laundry, but I doubt any of you could do it to mil spec like my father (an army officer) demanded in the house. You would need a tape measure the first few times to do it "the right way". Or another example my wife kept messing up my cast iron pans at first. She didn't know that it can't be left with water. Yet I didn't go calling her a woman-child or anything. I just relaxed and explained to her how to work with cast iron pans. I didn't shame her or weaponize sex into "chore play".

Lol. I'll ignore the fact that we have a very different view on gender roles since I believe women should get a choice, not be forced to depend on a man but I will inform you that your culture isn't the only in the world. After ww2 things needed to be rebuilt and in a lot of Europe that's why women work. We already worked for a loooong time before that on farms, which was basically all my country was before ww1. It's wasn't "feminism" that gave women the wild idea that we matter, we were utilised because it would have been stupid not to.

[–]PuertoRock007 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Who said women don't have a choice? They choose if they want to be with that man or not. They choose weather they want to be in a traditional relationship or not.

And yes the traditional women's role does matter. Maybe not to you but to me it does.

[–]LadyFerretQueen[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You claim the issue is non-traditional gender roles which means people don't get a choice. Get your subjugated wife if you want but that has nothing to do with the article from what I can see.

[–]PuertoRock007 -1 points0 points1 point 3 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't know what culture you're thinking about but most of those women choose that man and that life. They weren't kidnapped.

[–]LadyFerretQueen[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm being pretty clear, I think you're being obtuse. You're saying traditional american (I assume) gender roles should be normal but those by default mean that people are not who they are but have to adhere to the role that they're assigned at birth based on their genitals.
