I'm quoting the Manchester Evening News, which was one of the two sources linked by the video:

"The tests were carried out in cases where there was doubt about the
identity of the child’s father. They were done for personal information
reasons, rather than for legal purposes. The tests cost from £95."

And the scientific director of the testing lab mentioned:

"...the families approaching BioClinics for answers generally have good reasons for raising the question of paternity."

So no, we expect the real percentage to be far lower, given that only people who have enough suspicion to get a test and pay 95 euros are part of the sample.

OP, you're panicking too much. You have to be careful not to just see what you expect to see, especially when dealing with statistics.

Let me try to straighten out your title a bit. It's around 30% when it's suspected. Most estimates I've seen for the total population are around 3%-5%.

I had a stretch where I got into genealogy and had traced several lines back 15+ generations. Once I learned 3-5% of kids have a different biological father than what their birth certificate says, I lost interest since the odds of something being incorrect became so high.

Just make it mandatory in the USA, no exceptions. IMO atleast. No opt-outs. This also has the added benefit of stopping and catching men who commit rapes and sexual assaults that result in pregnancy.

A 2008 study in the United Kingdom found that biological fathers were misidentified in 0.2% (1 in 500) of the cases processed by the Child Support Agency.

Paternity fraud is fucking horrific. If a woman isn't 100% sure, she really should be honest & face the consequences.

For the women who are 100% sure, this is an area where we can help out men. We can help normalize ^ destigmatize men getting paternity tests by granting them without ending relationships, threatening partners, or getting offended. Put your pride aside & respect the fact that a man can never be 1000% sure bc they don't carry babies in their bodies.

This is one of those stats that Rp loves to constantly use. It’s based on data specifically pulled from a dna clinic. So the people are doing the tests because they are suspicious. What would be good, is knowing that this is manipulated data, and questioning why Rp does this? And actually changing your mind. But I haven’t seen that yet. I was blocked by granny tomassi on twitter because he constantly says all hybristophiles are women. I asked him where he got that information and I provided links to two studies being done right now on male hybristophiles. Instead of answering, he blocked me. Which simply shows he’s lying. So that’s two pretty big things that are blatantly false. Having said that, I cannot see why it isn’t standard practice to perform a dna test at birth. That way everyone would be protected. And if it’s a standard procedure, there would be no need for bleating about trust etc.

Paternity testing shows high rates of non-parentage because the only people who are doing paternity tests are people who already have reason to doubt.

Population wide rates of non-paternity are obviously going to be Much smaller than that.
