This is what's called "Female Relational Aggression". It's girl-bullying tactics.

Gossiping (often loud enough to be known, but not loud enough that you can hear what they are saying). Even whispering to their friends while looking dead at you.

Outcasting (aka ostracizing) - having an in-group of friends and an out-group that no one is allowed to talk to.

Spreading lies and rumours.

It can be tough if you're at all sensitive (and most young men your age are). But here's how to handle it:

You have to imagine they are saying something different, in your head. Because really it's your head that is making you doubt yourself here (whether your head is correct or not!). Change what's in your head.

Instead of thinking "hey, all the girls are laughing at me, there must be something wrong with me that I am not aware of" (which, btw, means that you are leaps and bounds ahead of them in your self-awareness) - try to change it to: "Hey all the girls are laughing because MY COCK IS SO ENORMOUS AND I HAVE SWAG."

It's the same trick (with a slight twist) that my friend taught me about getting told off by teachers:

When the teacher is yelling at you, just imagine them doing a poop on the toilet. You'll grin, laugh, and vomit all at the same time. But at least you won't feel bad about being told off...

Teenage girls are nastier than a hungry alligator in a pet shop. They are mean, and they are nasty just for the sake of being mean and nasty. I know that it hurts emotionally, and I can't make any suggestions other than toughening up and getting to the point where you just don't care anymore.

The worst thing that you can do to a teenage girl, as well as a woman, is to be indifferent to them. Turn your back on them, don't speak to them, or interact with them. This will drive them crazy. Teenage girls thrive on attention and validation, as do many women.

Do that enough, and they will chase after you, just to find out what it is about them that you don't find attractive. If a girl tries to get you to go out with her, simply turn down, even if you are attracted to her. This will work wonders for you.

Don't let giggling girls get you down. If they are noticing you, and not directly giving you shit, its probably because they find you attractive enough to spare the thought to have an opinion. It might even be that one of them has a crush, and they are likely giggling, because they are teasing their friend.

Girls will always be nervous about a "strange" male walking behind them. They are biologically wired to be more anxious than men on average. That will not change. The best way to avoid being looked at as a creep if it happens often is to not care, and just keep your chin up and smile and be friendly. Women like a brooding man, but only if they know him already.

When I was in grade 8, The hottest girl in school got one of my bullies to ask me to dance with her. I thought it was a trick, but I went through with it anyways because what was the harm that could happen. We danced, it was a good time. She asked my bullies, because she knew them, and knew they talked to me often. She didn't know that they made my life terrible, just that she saw them talking to me every day. They did what she asked, because she was hot. Nothing happened afterwards because I was not exactly comfortable hanging around her friends. Years later, I saw her at her wedding, while at another wedding for my cousin in the same hotel. She asked me why I never asked her out, I explained the situation, and we laughed about it.

When I was in grade 11, There was this girl in my history class, She would stare at me, She was very good looking, and I because of my prior bullying I figured, she must have a problem with me. And I did my best to ignore her. In grade 12, She practically begged me to come to the "after grad" campout. I didn't feel comfortable because none of my friends were invited, and she was friends with some guys I didn't get along with. At our 10 year high school reunion, her female friends came to talk to me, because they remembered me because she wouldn't stop obsessing about me when we were in high school. They were expecting her to show up, and then she cancelled while we were there. Apparently, Her new fiance wasn't comfortable with her going to the reunion, if "the guy she kept a shoe box of pictures of" was coming. Apparently that was me.

If girls are giggling, it means that they notice you. And unless you're wearing something truly outlandish, or look like a total tool, or just got your ass kicked, its not because they don't like you. If one of them makes eye contact while you walk by, give them an easy smile, and a wink, or a "like what you see ladies?" and keep on walking. Be confident, that you're above average enough that they are paying attention, which is far further ahead than most.

What's the worst they're going to do? Start a rumor about you? No publicity is bad publicity as long as you don't let it hurt you, and you can laugh it off.

I strongly believe we need MRA attention in our school systems. I strongly believe in ensuring that Boys get the attention and type of help they need to succeed in school, so that we can get back to a more even playing field in post secondary and beyond. But I don't expect that we'll ever be able to really change the behavior of teenage girls. The good one's grow out of it by the time they're 23 or so. And well not everyone finishes maturing ever. (hence the existence of the Karen Meme)
