I never crapped at school once in 6 years of middle and high school. Why? Because there were no doors on the stalls.

I couldn't count how many times I spent hour after hour doing NOTHING but concentrating on not crapping my pants. Learning anything was not an option, 100% of brain power was devoted to rectum control...I'm surprised my heart kept beating.

If I had kids in school today and I found out shit like this was going on, I'd be talking to a lawyer the next morning.

Bathrooms are an interesting one ... they seem like not a big deal, but then again so do water fountains.

At one place I recently worked, there was (of course) a men's and a women's bathroom. My company (mostly female, though I'm male) shared the building with another company (to my knowledge all-male). Although the female bathroom was very well-kept and tidy, the male one was terrible, just a few steps shy of a gas station restroom. Fortunately my coworkers allowed me to use the women's room (which had a key, though the men's room did not).

Another experience I had was in middle school, when someone took a shit in the urinal, they started requiring the boys to sign a ledger every time they left for the bathroom. Naturally, someone took a shit in the urinal again and they didn't catch the person; so they kept making stricter and stricter policies about boys using the restroom. They made us sign one ledger when we left/came back to the classroom, and another when we got to the restroom, and still they never caught the person doing it. I always wondered if it was a girl doing it, since they didn't have to do anything like that; they just had to ask.

I used to work at a company that had unisex bathrooms. there were three bathrooms, single occupancy with a locking door.

The weird thing was how big they were. Each of them had a toilet, a urinal, and a sink. And for some reason some chairs, like if you brought a friend with you they could sit while you crapped right in front of them.

But like I said the room was huge for a bathroom with no stalls, so you'd just sit there...crapping...staring at the door, wondering if you locked it.

OP here. Thanks for the support guys. After school, I talked with a bunch of different teachers about it. While none of the female teachers gave me any support, (one even told me to consider changing what I eat if I'm embarrassed) but finally my American Politics teacher (a guy, go figure) agreed with me. He said he always thought it was weird that the girls room had a door and encouraged me to not let myself get lost in the pressure I'm feeling to let myself be humiliated. He's going to help me go to administration tomorrow and plead my case for equal conditions. We're also going to push for a rule that the girls can't loiter within 10 feet of the bathroom.

The womens bathrooms are nearly always nicer. Just not enough cubicles for them because they have a big make-up area. What really pisses me off though is females and female cleaners coming into the mens when I use the urinal. They have no respect for men, but if a man used their toilet the police would be called.

I think restroom issues for everyone is a big deal, and I empathize with you greatly OP.

I know many people in school who try or tried to hold it through the day to avoid restroom horrors, including folks with IBS.

I've been at schools where to try and keep the sex and smoking down the stalls had these funny little 1/4 door panels which I found terribly embarrassing and would refuse to use them.

A door on the outer bathroom seems very reasonable.

Take some tools with you and move the girls door to the boys washroom. If it's no big deal they won't move it back.

You should see the bathrooms at the West Virginia University football stadium. The mens room only has troughs the size of bathtubs. Like a couple dozen of them in each mens' room. About 8 dudes will literally stand next to each other, shoulder to shoulder, peeing into the same tub, urine splashing everywhere. It is disgusting, but if you have to go its that or wait 20 minutes for one of the few stalls to open up.

The women get more restrooms and actual private stalls, naturally. Which they should. Being able to relieve yourself with dignity is generally considered desirable. I just wish the men would have simple, individual urinals. Privacy walls between the urinals would be a nice bonus.
