I love that T-shirt:

I have 99 problems and the white supremacist cis heteropatriarchy is most of them.

Presumably the T-shirts saying "I'm an upper-middle-class snob" were all sold out?

Anyone here really believe that if the 'lads mags' were bought by well-off businessmen rather than by young, relatively poor men, anyone would care quite so much? I don't. I don't believe it for a second. Even the very locution 'lads mag' sets up one's audience to think 'Oh dear, lads. They're bad, aren't they? Wasn't there a study or something showing that lads use English, the very same language a lot of rapists use?'

These same morons would be campaigning for the rights of people to put up pictures of vulvas if they thought that the demography was right. Put it on a magazine with a pretentious title, put a few thousand words of gender-studies babble in there, and hey presto! Acceptable content.

What seems to elude them is the very idea that the rules apply to everyone regardless of whether you consider them to be beneath you in social status.

I don't get this, women have the same thing inside most womens mags, LOOK AT THIS NAKED WET MAN, HOW SEXY.

But show a confident woman who has given her own permission to be photographed like that, and suddenly it's sexism, Yes she's airbrushed, so are the men in your "classy" rags.

According to the campaigners, the presence of these magazines in big stores constitutes sex discrimination and harassment of female staff and customers, contrary to the Equality Act of 2010.

I wouldn't feel comfortable selling cosmo and other women's magazines due to their blatant misandry and horrific advice (lad's mags don't suggest you abuse your partners genitals for fun, Cosmo can't really say the same).

Some guy needs to sue citing that exact same law.

Well - we object to men being depicted as idiots in sit coms and advertising. That, as well as linking sexualized images of women to products (which is all lad mags are really.) have the same source - Edward Bernays.

What they are calling "patriarchy" and "lads mags" and "sexism" and we are calling "men being depicted as idiots" is really the application of Freud's theories and Bernays ideas to adverting propaganda.

This is one aspect that just really pisses me off about feminism.

They try to claim they're all for equality/that they want more female privilege/whatever bullshit hypocritical flavour of the month, but then the SECOND you get women deciding that WHAT THEY WANT to do with their life/time is to take sexy naked pictures or make porn or whatever, you get a shitload of feminists jumping down MEN's throat because for some reason it is solely their fault that these poor helpless women felt compelled to make the choices they did.

Heaven forbid that women might have actual agency and are able to make their own informed choices. Too bad it's only good enough if they're making choices feminists deem worthy.

Also, if I saw anyone wearing that shirt in real life... I do try to be reasonably ladylike and do detest violence... But I think that in that case it might be justifiable.

Why do feminists hate boobs ? They support breast cancer but they hate boobs ? The women in "lad's mags" weren't forced to pose, they were definitely paid.

Why aren't women's mags targeted at all ? They are mentally, emotionally and physically damaging to women especially young girls who may have body issues.

The roots of social-system and social attitudes are very deep in biology: the fundamental problem in biology to deal with accumulated gene-replication error; and this is the function across species of the male. The male acts as 'genetic filter' (Atmar) or 'mutational cleanser' (West-Eberhard), and to this end males mutually compete to express their genetic complement for females to choose only those males with particularly good ones. Most males are not required – certainly not for high-fertility females – and the imperative is for mechanisms to deny them sexual access. This is why we have the most profound prejudice towards males generically and the mass of lower-status males more specifically. We rationalise this in assuming males 'deserve' such treatment, and that they must be 'bad', whit females requiring privileging. This then gets politicised into the notion that females are 'disadvantaged' and males their 'oppressors'. A wholly upside-down nonsense that becomes apparent when you look at any social history beneath the propaganda.
