It's hard to say. That girl took her own life, so it's a tragic story no matter how you see it. What is clear is that people are very easy to manipulate (I include myself, can't always be conscious about everything) and people were sent into a rage due to sensationalism.

Now, distributing pictures of a sexual act without permission is a crime (moral as well), even between adults. Whoever participated into that, actively or passively, is a total jerk (to use a soft word) and I hope learns the lesson. Reteah won't have that luck.

Why were they charged with distributing child pornography when no other male or female who passed her pictures on were charged?

Because there was massive public outrage and the police needed to quell their critics. It was all political. Otherwise, just about every student in the school could have been charged.
