While it's good to see this happening, I'm also concerned about the picture it's going to paint down the road. Reading the story, it looks like this woman has some serious problems. So serious, in fact, that her mental health case worker suggested she have a teddy bear. I don't think this is the "test case" we really want to go national, gents.

While I doubt she'll get anything like the 2 year maximum I think the fact that they even bothered to convict is a notable victory.

At the very least she'll have a police record now, even if she gets probation.

Typically they just say that being caught is punishment enough and send her on her way.

This is NOT Mary Kellett's jurisdiction.

This case is from 2 counties away. The young prosecutor in this case, Jeff Baroody, actually did work for Bassano very briefly but left her office for unknown reasons during the Filler case.

He is now an assistant district attorney in Rockland Maine, where he prosecuted this false rape case.

I appreciate the intent of this post, but unwarranted praise of Kellett/Bassano are not helping efforts to take corrective action against them, which I have on good authority are still very much under way.
