This reminds me of the time I was riding public transit and this little old lady got on the bus. There were 3 of us in total when she boarded. one guy at the back one guy sleeping/resting in the middle and me near the front. She walked to the middle where the guy was minding his own business, lost in a doze, and she taps him on the shoulder until he opens his eyes. She then tells him he is in her seat and asks him to move. He ignores her. She then taps him again and it is obvious that this 80 year old looking woman is not going to leave him alone until she gets her way. He ended up moving.

There are loads of empty seats in the photos, and these guys are probably thinking that if the train was packed they wouldn't spread out - I often put my bag on the seat next to me when the bus is near empty. In other cases they're simply fat bastards and there are loads of fat women around who take up to much space.
