For me the point that she supposedly has no experience in gaming is more important than her being a woman. However, it is SOP for media that any criticism of a woman must be due to her being a woman.

I found this out today. I know nothing of this woman's track record. I don't really care. I'm still not buying the new Xbox. Not because the head of the company is a woman, but because of the DRM bullshit, the always on internet connection bullshit, and the surveillance bullshit.

My opinion of the company right now has nothing to do with the gender of the person running it.

Nuff said. Some gamers don't think she is qualified due to not being gamer herself, which I can totally get making her less qualified for the position in the eyes of gamers. But as clockwork The Atlantic glosses over facts and goes for traffic.

there are some guys in the comment section arguing with some feminist gamer that, as usual, claims the victim monopoly for women. it is really painful to read, she just can't wrap her head around the fact that every one gets harassed while playing online games, regardless of sex or race, and that it does absolutely not indicate that gamers are generally misogynists. also for every loudmouth insulting someone, there are several players who do not say a word, but they just draw no attention.

People do not realize that every appointment made in a game company will have people commenting about it.

Regardless of the gender, if Microsoft promoted a male instead of her with no gaming experience, they would be talking about the same thing, just without the looking nice part.
