We're all going to be hurt. The bill has created 20 new taxes alone...not to mention penalties and fines. It's gonna hurt.

Currently, men are taught to shut up and take it like a man from all aspects of society. I think one of things we need to start doing is getting men to visit the doctor more.

We should start offering men some services that they tend to need, and maybe we can start to make the life-expectancy gap smaller.

It is articles like these that remind me how strange the US can be.

Everyone should have health care, and if your government cannot provide it to you not having third party coverage is crazy.

Seriously, when people who are of working age get sick and die or become disabled because they did not have the money to go to a doctor something is very wrong.

I don't get what's so bad about this. It's just bringing America into line with the other first world countries with universal healthcare. When you get sick, being treated shouldn't depend on how rich you are.

Yup. I don't know how I'm going to afford Obama care. I'm getting close to recovering from the hit that the crash cost me, but I'm still not there yet. I'm either going to have to start bidding higher than is reasonable (contract values go up over time, but covering this cost will require a significantly higher bump) or just go without and see what happens.

I agree that ACA is far from perfect. But keep in mind that it is designed to improve access for people on the margins.

If more men get proper preventive care -- vaccinations, regular checkups, mental health, you name it -- then fewer men end up on the streets with the ER as their only option.

If there's a gender bias, sure, we should talk about it. Don't let this thread turn into a condemnation of universal healthcare.

Women should be charged 50% more, this is bullshit. Thank god for being canadian cause americans are getting anally raped by Obama.

If you think that obamacare isnt just regulatory capture by large insurance companies, you haven't been paying attention. Prices will go up across the board as functional choices are stripped away.

As far as I can tell, the monsterously unhealthy making poor decisions will be the only clear winners. Everyone else was the chip the government cashed in with insurance companies to gain their support for the plan.
