My son has been going to scouts in New Zealand for about 4 months. It has girls in it.

I get the possibility of it being a barrier for a boy to enter guides, but really. If this is what we are fighting for, then I am done.

It will be real easy to bypass this. With the massive movement of non present parents, the girls will not be allowed at meeting or functions unless there will be female leadership present. This means that mom's will have to take the BSA training for female leaders and actually be at the meetings in an official capacity. I don't see this as happening too often. Far too many mom's just drop their kids off at scouting. I'm a former Cubs scout and venture scout leader.

I rather have a free informal space than a supervised formal one. Men have been socialized by force for decades and the result is not good.

We learn to be obedient, silent, always waiting for orders. These spaces are also breeding ground for feminism, just as schools and colleges.

Men and boys must aim for informal spaces. Forming bonds on the spot, having friends and creating their own "micro spaces" (I hate that word so much) where they can feel truly free to talk about whatever they like.

The larger the space, the higher the pressure to conform! And men are already the most pressured group in the west.

The more you think about it the more you realize that decentralized solutions are the best choice in a future where everyone and everything will be judged and policed by the mainstream dogma of the moment.

Because rational and reasonable parents have been boycotting the Boy Scouts of America ever since they started allowing homosexuals and transexuals into the BSA, and now the BSA is hurting financially, so BSA administration went after some girl money. Boycott the BSA even more, IMO. Deprive the BSA of financing until it's gone, then maybe something better can be built from its smoldering ash heap.
