Unfortunately, you need to be the bigger adult. Mediation could be a way to hash out some issues and get them into a legally binding document.

Or at the very least, if you try and make a show of being reasonable you can take that to a judge and it'll look better on you.

With what you’ve described, I would probably go for a collaborative divorce.

You each get your own attorney, but you and STBX meet together and attempt to hammer out an agreement before going to court. It’s kind of like mediation, but you both have your attorneys present.

Mediation can be lacking when it comes to legal matters. My attorney found several things that could’ve been a problem down the road, and the mediator is not able to advocate for either side to let you know.

I thought my mediation was going to be a complete waste of time and actually ended up hiring attorney that had a reputation for being a beast at trial. We ended up settling at mediation, and after the mediator saw some of the proof I had and she lied to him on multiple occasions at mediation, he actually ended up favoring me a little bit. The settlement we ended up signing was almost completely in my favor.

Not in my experience. And you pay by the hour to get your balls jiggled. YMMV.
