Update and reminder: Advice is welcome, but as you can tell from the flair, thats not the intention of the post. Vagueness was somewhat my goal, as I am just curious to hear from you all on your thoughts and experiences that relate to this story in some aspect, rather than solve my problems. Sorry for not making that clear!

The discussion point is at the bottom, but Im also using this post as a theme setting update on my thoughts about my relationship. Its been almost 2 years, and I want to process how I'm feeling. TLDR at bottom.

Background and the rose: So, Mr Right is amazing. We are nearing two years this spring, and the things that swept me off my feet are still there. When I first met him I didn't know if I was ready to begin this part of my life, but I got myself all ready - prepped and worked hard for my career, cleaned house in my life with family and self, found footing in my faith, revealed the skeletons in my closet, and I've been accepted for my whole self with this man. Appreciated, forgiven, and loved. We are on trajectory for marriage, and on paper I should have the life I've dreamed of - house, kids, all before the age of 30 cus I have 7 years and an expected fat salary by at least next year. And the best part of it all is that its going to be with a man that has strong family centered values, that I trust to guide our future. Things are actually great.

"that I trust to guide our future" .. do I?

Reality: My mind finds things to pick at in our relationship, and I get unsettled by new things constantly that seems to all be in my head. This is pretty manageable, but its made harder by how I cant seem to figure out how to express my heart, thoughts or concerns easily to this man. It takes a lot of effort. Part of it is that he's intimidating with his strong stances of whats right and wrong, that I feel too timid to bring up concerns in the moment they rise. He has great command for respect through the way he cares for those around him and makes confident decisions, but at this point I now realize he's actually bullshitting his way through lots of claims in the world and his knowledge, and doesn't have the humility to access when he could be wrong before claiming he's right - which I think could lead us down rocky roads. And the lighter of the concerns but still a crack in foundation.. He allows himself to get into piss poor attitudes and I believe turns down our opportunities for fun and fulfillment.

Conclusion/TLDR: I want to be support to my captain, and I love him immensely, but lack of communication, and some traits that I find dangerous make me hesitate from giving him my wheel.

The obvious solution is to address this all to him. I know that, and I think I will prepare to do that soon. Communication between us doesn't flow naturally, but I force it to happen in moments like this and he works with me on it. All in all we will decide what this means, not strangers on reddit. But I wanted to share the conflict and start a discussion.

Question for you: How many checkboxes do you allow to go unchecked? And how big? The honeymoon phase doesn't last forever, but aren't you supposed to feel like a capable unit by that point? When does the uncertainty about the relationship leave?
