Maybe they suffer in silence because when they bring this up, they're called a misogynist for devaluing female rape victims (the absolute HORROR if it's not only women who are raped and who are not systemically targeted for oppression as a gender).

Maybe they suffer in silence because feminist silence them with claims of misogyny when they speak up, and then call it toxic masculinity when they shut up.

As long as they can understand that “toxic masculinity” is a result of socialization and society, and is a way of thinking enforced by men and women, this actually seems pretty accurate. However labelling it “fear” and “biased thinking” seems to imply the author believes a man chooses to have suppressed emotions and communication issues, which is essentially victim blaming. They also fail to mention that just as or even more prevalent as a mans not wanting to talk is the lack of someone willing to listen

There are radical misandrist feminists who you use the term "toxic masculinity" to imply masculinity is inherently toxic, but that's not what it actually means. The original post uses it at its correct meaning, the term is supposed to highlight the toxic aspects of traditional masculinity. Things like not talking about your emotions, not crying and so on. There is also toxic femininity like expecting a man to pay the tab even when both parties are adults earning their own money and such.
