If a man is a mentally capable adult and he gets bankrupted because he's drawn into a fantasy constructed by careful insinuation without any legally binding agreement to follow up on the heavily implied sexual romance, I understand the feminist impulse to say "yeah! Ruin the guy, make his family homeless right now. Girl power! She's gotta keep every cent!" There's a rationalization at play that can be traced.

But this moral calculation breaks down when the guy's mentally incompetent

I'm aware of the details of a real life bankruptcy of a man who is in reality 13 though, he was just turned 18 at the time she took his life away. The investigation showed she spent many long hours talking with him, and couldn't possibly have been unaware of his low intelligence.

Very slow speech and limited vocabulary. Grew up deprived and fell through gaps in the system so never got diagnosed with retardation (I forgot the specific term) until after the events.
