*rape

[+][deleted] -63 points-62 points-61 points 6 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

If it’s consensual between both people isn’t it not rape?

[–]Randomdude2501 51 points52 points53 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If it’s between an adult and an underaged person, it’s statutory rape. So rape.

[–]SsoulBlade 24 points25 points26 points 6 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

If a male teacher have sex with a 14 year old female student, even if she consented... What do we call it?

[+][deleted] -27 points-26 points-25 points 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Statutory sex, I feel like they should change the wording from rape to sex. A real rapist is someone who does it without the consent of the other person imo

[–]SsoulBlade 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

I agree... But let's play their game... Since men cannot be raped...according to them

[+][deleted] -21 points-20 points-19 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

That wouldn’t make us any better, if we fight for a better cause for men. Let’s focus on real rapes and not consensual sex between people with an age gap bigger than 4 years. Because this takes away from the real problem. When it comes to statutory cases people should focus on giving the same consequences.(e.g, not high fiving the male victim and demonizing the male perpetrator)

[–]SsoulBlade 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

What are you talking about? Having sex with an underage person is Statutory Rape. Male or female. End of story.

[+][deleted] -8 points-7 points-6 points 6 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Statutory sex, rape if the person didn’t want it. End of story

[–]SsoulBlade 18 points19 points20 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Not according to the law. End of story. Goodbye

[–][deleted] -5 points-4 points-3 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Just because it’s law doesn’t mean it’s not stupid. End of story, good bye

[–]sneakyysampson 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

agreed this should be the legal terminology

[–]DancePower 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The reasons the laws law is because the law has considered minors to be not mature enough to comprehend the seriousness of sex, and laws within. It's more or less about protecting the children from being tricked into sex, because children doesn't have much willpower, nor enough wisdom.

It's a simplicity of maturity and wisdom. The laws doesn't consider your average kid at the ages where statutory rape counts to be mature or wise enough, making them easy targets for manipulators.

I think that's what the laws are based on.

[–]TheJollyDabber 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wow... I mean that's legally not true so don't try and spread that shit.

[–]vurkan -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Jesus f.ing Christ. Can you guys calm down on the downvoting? Dude literally just asked a question.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It's all about roll reversal, ask the question again if it's a MALE teacher and female students.

[–]vurkan 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I know and I agree.

But I don't understand why someone who doesn't understand gets karma raped instead of enlightened? Poor dude didn't even disagree with OP, he just straight up asked a question.

[–]rreot 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

He's getting karma raped precisely because of his blindness towards his ignorance

[–]vurkan 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

And what better way to get past ignorance than to ask and learn?

Why the fuck are you guys being so toxic? Way to promote a subreddit.

[–]rreot 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh yes life is about promoting subreddits and shielding snowflakes

[–]vurkan 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Your argument would make sense IF YOU WERE SOMEWHERE ELSE

You're not at a bar You're not on another site You're not in a school or University

You are on the subreddit MRA. Your behavior on here is a reflection of what this subreddit is about. It's the members that contribute to the atmosphere.

avoided going to trial by reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors, which will require her to give up her teaching license and register as a sex offender

*Sigh* Really, thats it? I mean at least she didn't keep her license or avoid the sex offender thing, but no jail time, not even a year?

“frontal lobe syndrome,” a condition which made her unable to control her impulses.

Okay, and the Attorney said that, any psychologists or doctors or actual fucking people who can verify this?!

which has rendered her defenseless to over-aggressive behavior, and that is exactly what she was exposed to,” Smith told NJ Advance Media.

HOLD THE PHONE. Is the lawyer saying the students were over aggressive and its their fault?

Okay, she has two kids and is 40, if ANY of this is true there would be some record of it and you WOULD NOT have someone like this around children. If she has this condition it would mean any time she has been angry she turns into a violent psycho. It would also mean shes pregnant with one of these boys kid if she has such poor impulse control. Shes at that age where most female teachers seem to lust after younger men, pretty sure thats the long and short of it.

This just reeks of nothing but preferential treatment, end of story.

are you surprised by the pussy pass?

[–]LegendaryEmu1 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Powerless to stop herself

So, you're saying... She raped 7 persons (including herself)?

[–]XavierMalory 20 points21 points22 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I think she just set a very interesting legal precedent.

Powerless to stop herself = lacking free will

Which translates to: she cannot have agency or responsibility.

Meanwhile a man would never be able to use this excuse in the same capacity.

Therefore in the eyes of legal society: women != men.

Welp, time to reclassify women as children (legally speaking). Awfully sexist if you ask me, but we have to be fair and give equal treatment under the law.

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This hits too close in the dating and culture as well. "I couldn't resist", "it was a moment of passion", "i started having feelings" and so many such retarded excuses for cheating and infidelity.

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points19 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

“The sexy children just overpowered me”

[–]darkbluexanadu 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes....frontal lobe bs to cover another female rapist....never ceases to amaze me how any success women have is due to their strength and femaleness and any bad decisions or mistakes are completely external forces working against them

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

FUCK

A fake medical condition and not even a year in jail

Fuck

Court: She says she was powerless, NOT GUILTY.

[–]Dunkolunko 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

So she's saying she belongs in a mental hospital and not raising 2 children?

[–]mgtowolf 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If her frontal lobe is that fucked up, it should be amputated.

[–]bakedpotato486 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Amputation is a bit extreme. Just stir it up a little.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

*raped. That’s what she did. There, fixed it

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

so she has the inability to say no to these teenage boys

that means they raped her

/s

[–]killcat 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

DO NOT EVEN JOKE, I can see this shit being tried.

[–]Moln0014 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's always funny how the lawyers blame the male young kids.

[–]Arthuyo 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It makes you wonder how long young lawyers have to practice to say such outrageous stuff with a straight face.

[–]BandMan69 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bruh. You’re the one with the power here.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Imagine if a guy was saying he was powerless to stop himself nobody would care and he'd probably be seen in an even worse light.

[–]mikesteane 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"Frontal Lobe Syndrome" ??????????

[–]HungryHornyHigh 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If we want to take these cases seriously then change the titles accordingly. It wasn't sex, it was rape.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hear ya but she did not 'plead guilty to rape' so that would be fake news. she

pleaded guilty on Thursday to three counts of criminal sexual contact related to her allegedly having sex with multiple students.

Now, they could have titled the article 'Teacher Pleads Guilty to three counts of criminal sexual contact in relation to her sex with 6 Students But Says She Was Powerless to Stop Herself' or something, but what OP posted was the title of the article itself.

The thing about the word 'rape' is that it is, in the logical sense 'overloaded' it has different meanings in different contexts. When the context is a legal one, it refers to the crime of rape.

[–]user_miki 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Imagine a man saying that.Pitchforks united.

[–]LegalEye1 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Frontal lobe syndrome", oh brother! There's no end to defense attorney BS.

[–]Moln0014 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I looked up articles on this lady. She is a big woman
