Also not entirely sure why it would become an "industry", and am even more confused as to why it's being alluded to that it's an industry that is only monitored by men, contributed to by men and administered by men...

And the cherry on top is why on earth that would be such a scary thought anyway? As if something that's only for men, is only contributed to by men, and there by would be monitored and administered to help men is so bad.

Or is it maybe that feminists feel left out that they are unable to control this aspect of men's health?

I certainly doubt that the first successful medical transplant of a penis would immediately spark a gold rush industry creation akin to big pharma and big oil... It didn't happen when the first human head transplant was successful, and it won't happen here.

I don't think this is scary, I do think though the inevitable attitude a lot of people have will be pretty disturbing. This kind of thing should only really be done for genuine medical reasons not to fuck up people with gender dysphoria for life, don't get me started on where they're going to be getting the genitals from if it's a place like South Africa.

Already getting disturbing thoughts in my head of men getting kidnapped and having their dicks chopped off so criminals can sell dicks to doctors on the black market.

The insanity of this is shocking. Like, why would penis transplants be a booming industry? Why is it scary even if it is? Why is it being by men an issue?

On top of all that, this kinda shows the author would rather attack men than even see how this could be a good thing for a group feminism often defends, trans men.

Seriously, part of what excites me is the idea that it may be possible for a transman to get a transplanted penis rather than a surgically created pseudo penis.

This is not even going into the positive impact on men who suffered castration as that should go without saying since it's what is being attacked in the article.

Scary is certainly the wrong word to use. Understandable but perhaps a step backwards. Now let me explain before you downvote. I'm a woman, if I give birth, or have any reproductive health concerns, I want the best person around to treat me, and I don't care if they don't own a vag or not. Like that matters!? Having the body part doesn't make you a fucking expert in the complicated art of transplant surgery. And owning a penis doesn't automatically make you the best qualified to make complex decisions. Sure the majority of the group should be men but if there's a woman who would be a valuable asset then she shouldn't be excluded just because of her gender. Men make decisions for women all the time, there are loads of male gynos, and long may it continue providing they are the best doctor around

Although this is a good post, the title does not say enough about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested. It also makes searching impossible.
