Not even close. I've been single for a few years now. I've been in relationships most of my life whether it be girlfriends or a long marriage. The past few years I've stayed out of the mess and I have unlimited freedom.

You're worrying about society that is fixated on coupledom. Look outside of that.

Yup I feel like a faceless, nameless person most of the time. Especially out in public. Sometimes I lean into that but mostly it's irritating and depressing.

I struggle with connecting with people at all. Really kind of in a place where I don’t really see the point. All my life every person that I’ve ever had a relationship with, romantic or otherwise, was using me for something. And I’ve given until I don’t have anything left to give to anyone.

I haven't gotten to that point yet. But I from what I have read it seems like trying is the problem. So many people sign up on dating apps, and play this game to find someone. When all you have to do is let things flow naturally in life. Much like you did when younger... I mean I never used a dating app or "searched" for anyone back then, it just happened. Friends of friends, coming across paths with someone at an event, etc. I don't get why people are so insistent on trying so hard, only to fail and write off the chances of ever finding someone.

Invisible? Not necessarily. However I’ve found as the now single man in his 60’s Im definitely going to have to work on building more & new relationships. Most of those went with my ex- as I’m more introvert leaning. However it’s no one’s job to “rescue” me. Men do the rescuing in the world. You just have to learn to rescue yourself.
