This happened to a buddy of mine. His ex came over to his place, started a fight, she started hitting him, and then the cops came. She lied through her teeth saying he hit her, next thing he's in handcuffs in the back of the police car. Charges were dropped later, but the woman always wins in these scenarios with this type of outcome.

What this report/study confirms is this:

General Population: 3% of men report their partner threatened to make a false claim 1% did (33%)

Abused men: 73% of abused men reported that their partner threatened to make a false claim 56% did (41%)

So, in summary, for the general population, 3% of women will threaten a false claim, 33% follow through, so a 1% chance. However, for abused men, 73% of women will threaten a false claim, 56% follow through, so if you are an abused man, there is a 41% chance that the claim of abuse is false.

An abused man is 41 times more likely to have a false claim brought against him.

My nephew's baby mama is pulling this right now. She went to bar to drink and cheat, he said that was not okay so she accused him of hitting her. Her story has changed about 15 times now but he still went to jail. Worst part is he has an iron clad alibi for the time she said it happened.

My ex threatened to falsely accuse me for hugging her (to calm her down, after she had a mental breakdown because I said our future children won't be staying in the same bed with us until they're 7)

Needless to say, i'm glad i didnt have any kids with that woman.

Is a massive grey area in this department, I can talk to you about the experiences of a few friends.

The first one was literarily used, manipulated, humiliated, and got punched several times by his partner, he made the mistake of leaving his flat to go to live with her and found himself trapped in the relationship without a place to go. Eventually, with the help of a few of his friends, he managed to find a spare room and left, nothing was reported to the police.

The second one was ex-military, when he was in the service his partner cheated on him several times, got back from Afghanistan I believe, not completely sure, and found out about her cheating on him, everything kicked off and after a heated up argument, he lost his temper and hurt her, ever since he hasn't been allowed to see his son, even though they were supposed to have share custody.
