At my bookstore job today putting out new magazines and pulling out old ones to send back, there was a women-centric magazine in the women's section that had an article on it that mentioned "breaking barriers." What barriers are these, exactly? It's so annoying hearing about women "breaking barriers" when these barriers already got broken decades ago and they get so much in the way of favorable treatment in Western nations and even special protections. Seems to me the term "barrier" can be lumped in with non-existent things such as the patriarchy, male domination, etc. as things misandrists believe are holding them back on the basis of gender. One can make an argument for women having barriers in places like Sudan, Somalia, much of the Middle East, etc. where they genuinely have it difficult (men and boys don't have it great either by a long shot), but here in the West? No way, at least not in the way misandrists define it, which basically plays into their tired and false "women are oppressed" narrative. Men and women both have struggles and hardships in life for sure, but misandrists always like to infantalize women with delusions like this. It's honestly an embarrassment for good, independent women everywhere. "Barriers" is a pretty general definition but if it translates to women being oppressed or marginalized in the current 21st century Western world and held back purely due to gender, then for sure such "barriers" don't actually exist.

On another note, also at work today helping a customer look for a book, I came upon a book that was about raising boys to not be "assholes" (yes, that's actually in the title) and on the back it mentioned about how boys should behave towards women. Well, who's also teaching girls how to behave towards men and boys? With equal rights also comes equal responsibilites and being decent to one another, and belonging to a certain demographic isn't a license to be rude or a bully. But as usual, it's taboo to ever bring up the subject of also teaching women and girls to be better people and only men and boys who are asked to be accountable. I'd hate to bring a son in this world with all of the misandrist garbage that's re-enforced so much, but I'd equally hate to bring a daughter into this world as well, with how much she'd be brainwashed into believing this misandrist BS.
