Good afternoon,

I am just wondering what this subs stance on patriarchy. I have had a few conversations with people and I was surpised by their stance on this topic. Specifically the history of patriarchy. I am all for mens rights, but I am not an anti feminist. I personally do not believe these are mutually exclusive. Please do not ban me for this.

My question: Do people here think any part of western history, society was ever a patriarchy? I do think this. But many people disagreed with me, and even argued it was closer to a matriarchy the entire time. Please let me know, if one, you think our society was ever a patriarchy, and what time period you think it changed. And if you don't think it was ever a patriarchy, please explain and provide examples of how it was not.

EDIT: Please read bolded part as this is the question I want answered.
