I've spent a lot of time actually reading the sources people here say excuse them from any personal responsibility for being massive losers, and sometimes I'll check legitimate source's sources. I generally do this if I see something that surprises me. Learning that high school was really beneficial for people with autism surprised me. What I found was an extremely good study with some solid conclusions:

Our results are cause for concern. Although autism symptoms and maladaptive behaviors were generally improving while adolescents and young adults with ASD were in the secondary school system, improvement slowed significantly after high school exit for internalizing behaviors and all but one of the autism symptoms subdomains.

Now, I know all of you got extremely mad when I suggested that maybe you needed thousands of hours of social development still. Especially if you're autistic, but don't have any intellectual disabilities, who suffered from leaving high school the most:

Contrary to our hypotheses, the most pronounced slowing of improvement after high school exit was observed for young adults with ASD who did not have ID.

And this study seems to be suggesting really strongly that leaving a forced-social environment like school is actually really bad for you, and locking yourself away to jack off to cartoons is really bad for you:

Furthermore, over one-quarter of young adults with ASD without ID had no occupational, educational, or day activities at this time, a percentage that was over three times greater than youths with comorbid ID.

But it could also be a lack of autism-specific support that is actually quite good in some schools apparently.

What do you think is the most likely cause for this trend, and how is it definitely not your fault? Thank you for your time.
