Hi Everyone,

I'm a 34-year-old man, in a challenging relationship with a 33-year-old woman. I've posted here before, asking for advice about my girlfriend, who has a history of a failed marriage. At that time, I found some old texts from her ex, which opened my eyes to their reasons for divorce.

As it turns out, the problems that plagued her past relationship seem to be reappearing in ours: constant criticism, self-centered behavior, a habit of playing the victim, and an overall negative vibe. What confuses me is that she'd initially painted a very different picture of her past, stating she was the accommodating one in the marriage.

Fast forward to today, and I find myself wanting to leave. It's become unbearable as the double standards, constant jabs, and blaming are eating away at my self-esteem. I'm exhausted from the pressure of her expecting me to fix everything by changing myself. The daily negativity is taking a toll, to the point where I've even considered her ex's suicide threats may have had some relation to this.

But here's the kicker - we recently bought a house together, and she's just informed me she's pregnant, six weeks in. Despite the emotional turmoil, we're on good terms. (She doesn't know I'm thinking about leaving). I've suggested couples counseling, more so to buy time than anything else. She's pushing for marriage.

To be honest, if it wasn't for our unborn child, I would've left already. Now I'm left wondering: am I stuck because of this pregnancy? What can I do to protect myself? Should I just grit my teeth and try to make this work, for financial and family reasons?

Any advice from those who've walked this path would be greatly appreciated. I'm feeling lost, and any guidance would be a lifeline right now.
