I was in this exact same scenario. LTR of 8 months, company shut down so I got laid off. For me, it ended in a breakup after a month. She started to throw cheap shots at me even though I had plenty of savings and was applying like crazy. Started distancing herself and acting weird/untrustworthy. One thing you need to do is keep focusing on your own shit. Don't contact her more than usual or anything like that. If she's loyal, she'll stick with you. My girl wasn't, but I'm glad I found out sooner rather than later.

I went through this in November. While I had been looking for a new gig and it was a point of conversation, it was a big shock that I got laid off in mid-November. It’s a major thing in anyone’s life, so not bringing it up is dumb. I brought it up with my girl and laid out the situation (impacts to upcoming entertainment and travel) as well as my plan on getting a new gig lined up.
Here’s the thing, if she capped on me, even a little, she’d be gone. Anyone that kicks you while you’re down should get cut from your life. Luckily, my girl is solid and very Red Pill, so it’s all good.

My advice is, tell her your situation, but make the “story” about what you’re doing about getting another gig. Be sure that it’s truthful and that you’re following through.

Also, your plan to “test her” would fail miserably. You do not need proof to identify or lay judgment on a low value woman. You only need proof that she is a high value woman.

Another user hit it on the head, it lies in your frame. Your reaction to life shitting on you will show her that you are her rock. You shouldnt be afraid because you have your savings and you are avidly looking for work so it should work out pretty soon.

At worst its a good chance to see how she would react, if shes gonna jump ship while youre working on getting a new job and keeping your frame, what good is she? If you become a mess then its a different story.

Edit- people change jobs all the time for reasons. Sometimes it's earlier than you planned. If you aren't living hand to mouth, this is no big deal. Unless you're afraid of being being employed, you can find another job this week (yes. it's Thursday. Go spin a sign if you have to.).

Why do you care THAT much? Do you live with her? I'd see this as a test to see how she reacts. Go ahead, tell her the truth. If she leaves, better now than when shit REALLY hits the fan. If she sticks around and doesn't throw you shade when you're down, that's a plus.

I'll tell you what happened in my situation: I was highly dependent on weed and stopped giving a shit at work. I one day on a whim decided to quit. After 3 months I finally decided to find a job. during that period my gf was supportive and encouraged me to keep looking. It honestly will depend on the type of woman she is. I recommend you tell her. This is a great chance to test the relationship. You're not the godfather and you're not married. the worst that can happen is she leaves you over something petty.
