Recently found out I was getting laid off and have been applying like crazy. I haven't told my LTR of 8 months yet because I've always felt like my financial situation was none of her business.

I always remember the scene from The Godfather 2 where the protagonist loses his job but doesn't tell his wife and just picks himself up and handles it like a man so his wife wouldn't need to worry.

At the same time I'm wondering if this would be a good chance to test her loyalty and see if she'd branch swing if I can't find gainful employment soon. My original plan was to immediately find another job in a field that I want so that she wouldn't need to find out in the first place.

She's not a gold digger and pays her share but I do feel like it would affect her image of me.

Thoughts?
