Why is a business considered marital property, but debt isn't?

Beginning the process of a divorce and I'm confused by the system.

If I have a credit card in my name only and have $5,000 in debt, why is that considered exclusively mine?

But

If I own an LLC, also exclusively in my name, it's considered marital property and the other spouse must be paid 50% of the value of compatible compensation?
