12 mo of everything from the date of discovery requested, separated Sept 22, req july 23, so july 22-july 23.

basically everything post separation. I have read 3 years for some folks but we had joint accounts until separation. Essentially it was just a final check of what each other was doing/spending/had left.

Requested Credit card statements, checking/savings, pay info

We are trying to do this ourselves with a separation agreement, but with each of our own lawyers. 2022 taxes and all other non joint accounts 01/01/23 to separation date, which was mid June. Joint accounts to most current.

There’s no timeframe rule. One guy on here produced decades of records to prove some of his assets were separate property.

My wife and I are both high earners. Personally I’m still in discovery and produced a complete package by the due date. My wife on the other hand chose to try to hide assets so I requested two years worth of bank statements from her. It’s different for everyone depending on the situation.

I’m not really sure what the point of going back three years just to see how you spent money is, after all the money is gone and you’re getting divorced. What’s she going to do yell at you for some casino charges in 2019?

My ex asked for two or three years of my financials so I asked for the same and I was able to find financial misconduct which I used in my favor for the settlement. I went back 12 years on investment statements to establish premarital value. Getting records that far back was a PITA.

Two pieces of advice for someone getting married. Prenup and save bank statements and financial statements at least one year back from the date of marriage

There are general and location-specific rules around discovery. You should be able to look this up for your local area. Know that you may object to some discovery request or limit what you provide as part of a request. Always try to cooperate in good faith while also aware of not disclosing info you are not required to do so. If you can, consult with an attorney.
