Someone literally got into my DMs and here is the conversation:

them: Made to penetrate isn't rape. Also, men commit most rapes.

Me: So, if women do it, it's not rape. If men do it, it's rape.

Them: Yes.

Me: so, is it possible that the fact men commit most rapes is caused by it "not being rape" when women do it?

Them: no

Me: so you, could have 100 women forcing men to penetrate them at gunpoint, 1 women penetrating a man with a strap-on at gunpoint, and two men penetrating women at gunpoint, and you'd still have 66% of rapes committed by men?

Them: doesn't happen.

Me: Again, by your definitions, in this hypothetical, you could have women forcing men into sex outnumbering men forcing women into sex 50-to-1, and still have male rapists outnumbering female rapists 2-to-1?

Them: I don't care about hypotheticals.

So we have someone literally openly saying "it's not rape when women do it, men rape more not because it's actually rape when they do it, but because they're just stronger, more violent and more horny".

About men being more violent, that certainly explains why 70% of one-sided domestic violence is women beating up on men who don't even fight back. Also, strength stopped mattering the minute good old Samuel Colt made everyone equal.

Well, going by what few studies actually measure rates of "being made to penetrate" the rates are close to 50/50, though I do have my doubts about that.

Considering how much pushback there is for calling it rape when women do it, they're at the very least enabled to keep doing it. The Hermesman v Seyer precedent setting case in the supreme court of Kansas has actually provided financial incentives for female rapists, now that there's a legal precedent to make it a potentially lucrative career for women.

Rape is fundamentally the breaking of consent for sexual activity, including where no consent is sought: it should not rely on the particular mechanism of sexual activity involved (engulfment is the opposite perspective of penetration for example).

As someone said below, it varies by jurisdiction. In the US, only 17 states define rape that way. The UK defines rape that way.

Yes it’s insane that we live in 2023 yet this is a thing. More men are definitely the victim of sexual abuse without a doubt when you throw in prison rape and made to penetrate stats.

Female rapists are definitely way more common than we think and are actually way more likely to abuse men than another man is.

a girl had sex with me despite me saying no multiple times. she kept asking until I caved and just let her. this all happened in front of a few people at a party (not the sex part that happened somewhere else obviously lol). It wasn't necessarily upsetting or traumatic, but very interesting how if the roles were reversed I would probably be in legal trouble. Personally I think it is different. When guys have sex when they don't want to it isn't a big deal in most cases but women care a lot more and can get very upset. we are two different genders with different biology and so we will react differently to different things. Hence I disagree, rape should remain the more severe law that it is because that kind of thing is in most cases much more damaging to a woman as it is to a man. sure its frustrating when certain people will come along and say that women and men are the same and that we should all be treated identically because in my mind I just think how they really don't want that - this is a perfect of example of where equal rights would not work because a female aggressor versus a male aggressor is two very different things. the same can be said for undesirable jobs, prisons and gendered spaces (like changing rooms) trans people in gendered spaces etc. I think we need to stand up to the idea of absolute equality because it won't work. it would be like putting a shark and a tiger in the same room, or a shark and a tiger in the same pool - it isn't fair on one of them, even though they technically have equality, one would absolutely destroy the other one. we need rules for men and rules for women.

This is weird to me. Why are so many men unable to fathom that other men are the ones committing sexual assault? In my experience, it was other men. Yes women can commit sexual assault, but all it seems like men are doing is bringing up the false accusation statistics or “what about women assailant” narrative?

In most places rape laws specifically require a man to be the assaulter, and since the vast majority of people are hetero of course the majority of "rape" victims are female. If they were changed to describe nonconsensual sex without requiring a dick then you will see a lot more male victims.

Most states define rape as penetration as you say. But they included penetration with a body part (penis, finger, etc.) and any object. So your claim is only partially correct.

Also, many states are now rewriting the laws to say "penetration or envelopment", which of course means 'she raped him.'

It took me 35 years to tell anyone. I was hitchhiking and barely 15. I was drunk when he forced himself on me. I felt so emasculated there was no way I could tell anyone, for fear of not being believed. Having 3 brothers wasn't helpful either. If they ever find out I would surely be embarrassed but I know it is not my fault, which was not always the case.
