Quite poorly written article that only skims the surface of the problems.

[–]Witty_Fox_143[S] 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Say someone were to write that article, what would you include? What would you tell the world about it?

[–]Raging_Dragon_9999 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That there's a reason so many men fall for this stuff more than just manipulation.

[–]NerdeePerv 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I concur. To arrive to the conclusion that men were manipulated or that the men are “afraid of something” assumes that those men are emotional and irrational and their conclusions are not backed by any sound arguments. Take college admissions for example: in the US policies were enacted to increase female enrollment (specifically white females) and that’s what the data bares out. But men are told that we are underachievers

Someone once told me that sometimes people force nuance unnecessarily. Sure life is full of nuances. But once patterns are observed and are overwhelmingly consistent, we cannot be so naïve to think that the general outcome is a result of unpredictable factors. Why? Because we as human beings are more alike than we are different.

[–]ooa3603 8 points9 points10 points 2 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

It’s a complicated question that has a nuanced answer.

But if you were to boil it down, the answer is fear.

These men are afraid of something in themselves or the world and instead of accepting and facing that fear, they hide it behind hyper masculinity and blame women for the source of the fear instead.

I was lucky enough to jump out of the redpill before I got in too deep, but if you are a man and want to get out, the number one thing you need to ask yourself is:

“What am I afraid of?”

The redpill paradigm is addictive because it gives you a false sense of control of your fear.

But in actuality it’s making you more afraid and insecure because it lays the blame for your insecurity on women.

Once you can see how your fears are being manipulated by worldviews like these AND (this part is critical) you stop consuming redpill media your mind will start to heal and you can start actually facing your fear

If this is what you think will convince red pillers to abandon ship, you're not that bright. We need actual people who actually understand what is going on.

I swallowed to many, and its causing major issues in my marriage. It's harder to unprogram than it was to program. It's hard to unsee, or unthink the things that get in bedded so easy.

[–]Reasonable-Analyst30 4 points5 points6 points 2 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Genuine question: how did you still fall for the red pill beliefs while already being married?

[–]TopIncrease6441 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Confirmation bias

[–]blutfink 3 points4 points5 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not OP, but a general observation: Blaming relationship issues on “female nature” is more convenient than working on oneself.

[+]shawninpa 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

It's actually easier than you think. I started seeing all that body count crap, and how a woman can't pair bond after x amount of partners etc. I started seeing my wife as less than worthy. It started me on a retroactive jealousy ocd issue where I'd ruminate over scenarios my mind created about her in sexual situations with ex boyfriends. Because of that it has completely ruined how I once viewed my wife. I'm basically ready to just walk away, because I can't stop the ocd thoughts now. I wish I'd have never seen that crap ever. It destroyed my mind, and potentially my marriage, and life

[–]featherblackjack 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

It's always easier than you think :( being sucked in by such things happens really quick, even if you're someone who doesn't think they will fall for it.

You can recover from this. You're being abused by a cult. A cult that exists for the purpose of making money. Don't give up on yourself or your marriage just yet!

Read the guidelines on the front page. Wean yourself off redpill content. You might have to make an entire new account and avoid the pitfalls on The Algorithm. Do something morally neutral like qi gong or knitting, get to know yourself again. You can come out of this!

[+]shawninpa 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I stopped all the red pill crap over a month ago cold turkey. I just scroll right past it. I deleted tiktok completely. Well I'm an ex football player, and big muscular guy. I don't see knitting in my future lol. I get your point though. I hope you're right. I've not been very successful as of yet

[–]featherblackjack 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

It's just like kicking any other addiction, in this way. It takes time and persistence. Not willpower, merely consistency.

[+]shawninpa 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Well in my case it's the devastating effects it has caused in the way I view women, and my wife specifically now. The addiction part is a piece of cake to get past, what's not, is the damage it did to my mind, in the way I perceive her now, as damaged goods. I started having mental images of her with her exes sexually, and it really screwed my head up. On top of that I have ocd, so it just ruminate in my mind. I'm struggling to stay in my marriage, and not leave. The bad part is I met her when she was 32, and she had a pretty tame past. No casual hookups, one night stands etc. It was all in relationships, but now, I just don't see her the same. The heartbreaking part is she's an absolutely amazing woman. She's beautiful, smart, funny, and an awesome mother. She took my 2 kids on from a previous marriage like they were hers, and helped me raise them. I've been with her for 18 years, married 16. I don't want to throw it all away, but can't seem to make the thoughts stop. I'm beyond the crying stage, and in the idgaf stage. I'm really torn up. I love her deeply, buy at the same time, being with her is causing so much anxiety, and now depression. I feel my only way back to myself is to leave. It's quite the conundrum

[–]featherblackjack 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm starting to suspect your issue may be a big swing into depression, rather than red pill on its pure own. It's sounding like you've had a big shock or long term continuous distress, or both. What's going on in your life?

[+]shawninpa 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Alot of everything. I was abused physically, and mentally as a child, and then after a few bad relationships married a narcissistic woman that cheated the entire marriage, I found out after the divorce the extent, and how many people. Honestly think it's manopuase lol

[–]Reasonable-Analyst30 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Thanks for replying.

This just seems so wild to me. You actively created a problem in your marriage where there wasn’t one before.

Have you tried reading up (F)ACTUAL peer-reviewed papers on ‘pair-bonding’? Cause the study pilled forums try to use, is a study done on birds and voles. Pair-bonding as it is described in those papers, does not exist in human nature.

Your wife is perfectly capable of loving you and feeling ‘bonded’ to you, even if she had X amount of partners before you. Please, this pilled belief is not based on any human reality.

I hope you find a way out of the pilled beliefs, cause they are nothing but toxic crap made to make and keep men angry and lonely.

ETA: read the entire papers, including the results and conclusions. Titles and introductions are supposed to be eye-catching and just to state a hypothesis. The hypothesis often gets debunked or proven wrong.

[+]shawninpa 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm trying, and you're right, all it did was make me angry, and bitter. It took a very secure man to someone I can't stand looking at anymore. I'm a good looking guy, I'm 6'5, and built well, and it made me feel insignificant, and worthless. Like I'm last place, which essentially I am I guess lol. I'd give anything to go back to the way I was.

[–]Allusionator 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Which ones are stuck the worst?

[+]shawninpa 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Body count, and seeing women as dirt because of it. It's caused major issues in my marriage. I'm having a hard time not just walking out. The damage is done in my brain. Its hard to unsee the things my mind has shown me now.

[–]TenaciousVillain 2 points3 points4 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The radicalization of young men is a huge problem, more so than ever. Yes there are issues but this is absolutely not the answer. It’s oil on fire. 100% wrong.

[+]Aggravating_Crab3818 -6 points-5 points-4 points 2 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So these men should be consuming the opposite of redpill?

[+]Direct_Yesterday_349 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I know red pill isn’t popular on this forum and some red pill evangelists like Andrew Tate are ‘problematic’ to put it mildly but truth is from my experience , there is a lot of good information out there which can greatly help men. It’s not about hating women. It’s about clarifying a lot of the confusion out there in the world for men and giving them guides on how to better navigate issues not just with women but with life in general. It doesn’t tell men they’re great and don’t need to change and women are bad or always at fault. Honest red pillers will admit most men aren’t of ‘quality’ and tell men they must self improve and be their best in every way they can. It doesn’t guarantee success in life but it tells them to maximize contentment with life and teaches that there are things in life they can’t control. I’m an older guy approaching 50 with alot of life experience and never heard of ‘red pill’ until a few months ago believe it or not. I learned very little from red pill content but listening to such content validated stuff I long instinctively knew or suspected with really ‘knowing’. I think if one avoids more odious personalities like Tate and listens to calmer voices stressing self improvement above all else, young men can really benefit and be better mates for women.

[–]featherblackjack 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

My friend, that's exactly what redpill does say. An honest redpill is as common as an honest carny. Advice from men to other men is absolutely not redpill. It's one thing for lonely kids of divorce to hear someone cares for you and you deserve better. It's a real different thing when they start hating women and everyone else who exists.

I don't know one single content creator who addresses young men to better themselves without plunging into misogyny, fascism, racism. Not. One. That isn't an actual therapist themselves and that young men aren't going to listen to because therapy is for women and gays.

If redpill validates your feelings, think closely about your feelings and why they might line up.

For a second there I thought you wanted to get out and needed help, so good job disappointing me Ig

For about ten years, people against the Red Pill movement and the original supporters of the movement have been trying to communicate the same thing. In 2012, the message of the Red Pill movement was altered from its original build. Originally, the Red Pill was never meant to be about spreading hate. Instead, it was focused on self-improvement to increase the likelihood of finding love, without becoming bitter and hateful. The movement used to emphasize the importance of self-improvement for mental health and other areas of life. Then it became popular on Reddit. Then it became a for profit venture when it was always designed to be free. The original point of the movie that inspired the movement was to encourage self-improvement in the context of love. Then it was Redditized. 🤢🤮
