So my ex filed a contempt of court because I paid her expenses 4 days late from the deadline set by court. the amount was $38 this simple thing dragged in court and cost me 7k in lawyer fees.

The hearing officer said he will hold me in contempt because I paid late. and her lawyers requested to order me to pay her legal fees. since she has two lawyer way more expensive than mine, her legal bill is way more than mine. I don't even know how does all of that makes sense and how the court entertain something so petty.

I am thinking to object to the judgment and dispute it with a judge as the intent wasn't to willingly disobey the court. however I am afraid this will just increase the legal bills for both side and might have to pay them both.

Do you think the hearing officer will order me to pay her legal bills?
