Difficulty getting close to women.

Kudos to you for having the self-awareness and courage to acknowledge something like this! Frankly this is something that you’d ideally visit a therapist for. But assuming that’s not in the cards, here’s my two cents from someone who also used to fear women.

In a nutshell: what exactly do you think you’re afraid of? Are you afraid of expressing your sexuality and creeping a woman out and making her uncomfortable? Are you afraid of falling in love and getting your heart broken? Are you afraid of “being yourself” and then being rejected? Are you afraid of being perceived as “beta?”

IDK about you, but these are the kinds of things I worried about when I was younger. In my mind, I was somehow being “masculine” and “rational” by avoiding women. In reality, I was just coming up with rationalizations to stay in my comfort zone and avoid taking social/emotional risks.

When I eventually fell in love and got into a relationship, I quickly realized just how easy it is to mistrust your partner and always assume the worst. I also quickly realized that a mentality like that was toxic for the relationship. So I decided to take a leap of faith and give my partner the benefit of the doubt by default, and talk things out if necessary. It’s harder and scarier, but it’s worth it! After all, if you can’t trust women, how can they trust you?

A therapist. There is stuff here that needs to be unpacked. You may find it helps you connect with your partners. Can't get close to them till you get close with yourself.

Befriend a woman who lives far far away so you feel like you can get away any time by never answering a call ever again (maybe it will make you braver)

Well, your behaviour is surely not unfounded. I believe you should treat this more like a play, stop being so serious. Time for deep intimacy and connection will come much later. You may get your heart broken, so you should keep it for someone that may be worth it.

Try to not distance yourself away when they get close to you
