There is such a thing as being too agreeable. If someone says something you objectively disagree with, and you stay quiet or worse reply with some confirmation like "Yeah", you can be percieved as acting too nice and going along with anything anyone says around you. You have to be able to look people in the eyes and tell them you have a different opinion than theirs. But, this is just a guess at what could be your problem. You might literally get on the floor like a human carpet for all I know.

What exact interpretation of the word nice they are using is impossible to determine. Their mannerisms and attitude toward you need to be taken into account.

Languages are vague and people can get into big arguments simply because they interpret the meaning of words differently. Online arguments often simply devolve into an argument over the meaning of words.

Other than that it's not a big deal. Literally EVERY girl I have ever hooked up with has called me nice or sweet at some point. Same can be said about my friends. This whole "girls like asshole" thing is overrated and over simplified.
