Took a shower, put on some of my best clothes (for someone who travels for months on end), walked over to the club from my hotel (company puts us up in them). Talked to people on my way out of the hotel to boost my social confidence, talked to some passerbys on my way walking there, (about a 10 minute walk).

Earlier in the day I had looked up the club and they had a special event for Easter going on, you dress up and all that. I’m living out of a suitcase and I’m on the road for months at a time so I’d rather not carry the costume around for the next 5 months so I just wore some ripped skinny jeans and a nice shirt. I was about 100 yards from the front door and I saw a group of attractive college aged girls. They were going to have to join me on the sidewalk to walk the next 25 yards to the entrance. About 25 feet from them I knew they saw me and I did a friendly wave and said “y’all look nice I clearly didn’t get the memo it was Easter night” then literally all three of them changed their mood, they were all smiles with their friends, as soon as I said something to them they all looked straight ahead, continued to walk, stopped talking amongst eachother, and didn’t even acknowledge me as being there. It was even worse because I had to wait behind them to get in at the door. I was attracted to them yes but I wasn’t trying to game them, just keep my mood light and friendly.

This was a major blow to my confidence starting the night out, however I still went in and had an alright time. I don’t think what I did was incorrect, maybe they were just on guard because they weren’t in the venue yet. I understand some women might not like being approached and there’s no helping that. I’ve been told even the most skilled gamers can’t crack their code. It could have been that the approach was from the side, probably better than running up behind them, that would’ve been far worse I feel especially at night.

Mind you the parking lot was a little dark, however they were walking toward the sidewalk which was very well lit and there were a couple people trickling in ahead of me so we weren’t the only 4 people on the street.
