'...but I don't know why, because I want to date someone who I can just be myself around, like a friend who I can sleep with' a quote from a girl I was chatting to on my campus today.

I replied: 'Well if I were trying to pull you right now, a lot of guys would crucify me for putting all my cards on the table like I just did [I was talking about my ADHD and depression]'

Her: 'I mean yeah part of me loses a bit of interest when guys tell me everything about themselves, but part of me becomes more attracted to them too. I guess for a casual thing I prefer a mysterious guy, for a relationship I definitely want someone who I talk about anything with liek a best friend'

me being cheeky: 'so in other words it comes down to whether or not you find them physically attractive'

Her: 'I need to find them physically attractive enough, but I'd say it's more about their overall vibe'

It's not a profound insight, but it was interesting to hear it coming from a girl not just a pick up 'coach' - and a she's a pretty straight edge teachers pet type girl at that.

I personally can't really help over-disclosing due to my adhd, nor can I really be fucked trying to filter myself, I'd rather just find the fewer people who are ok with me, but I guess it's a reason why so many of my dates feel more friendly than sexy, and it's something to bear in mind if you want to maximise your chances of a ONS I guess.

Even if you goal is a relationship, being a little bit reserved and maintaining some aura of 'mystery' wouldn't hurt.

My question is: where do you draw the line? And how do you stay mysterious without seeming tryhard or weird?

P.S. She also said that there's nothing more attractive than when someone speaks really enthusiastically about something they're passionate about like they're a big kid...which kind of contradicts the whole mysterious vibe...so be the most mysterious version of yourself.
