I act awkward and then realize she was flirting with me 15 minutes later. I then resolve to pick up on the queues next time. Rinse and repeat.

When women do things that move the interaction in a sexual or romantic direction flirt with them to encourage them to continue, and make sure you do so only when they do these things. Don't just do it all the time.

This is specific for girls who are already making moves, you can totally flirt with other girls at different times, even girls you're not attracted to, just for fun but for the girls who are already making moves, only flirt when they make those moves.

The guy who said you weren't actually being flirted with also made a good point because you'll need to understand what flirting actually is, coz if you do anything other than actual flirting to encourage the girls you could screw things up.

Be honest and upfront. If someone is flirting with you and you aren’t interested for whatever reason, let them down gently. If someone is flirting and you’re into them, tell them that and make plans to hang out. If someone tries to play games with you, let them go. I flirt back. But I naturally flirt with everyone. That is a bantar with people alot, both men and women. You have to do with everyone and eventually you will just do it naturally.

My ex would complain often that I was a flirt which is where the problem with this habit comes. It's hard to turn it off
