How are your guys' story-telling skills?

I'm on Day 12 of the StyleLife Challenge, and I'm finding today to be the most difficult, which is funny because it doesn't really focus on approaches at all.

The mission I'm struggling with, is to come up with a few stories that:

are true accounts from past experience
contain DHV spikes
convey good qualities (such as loyalty, for example)

There is material on how to tell a good story in 'Rules of the Game', 'Magic Bullets', and I've been watching a little 'Mystery Method' video on the subject. However, I'm still having trouble coming up with something that is A. truthful, and B. interesting.

So my question to Seddit is:

Do you have a story you try to use whenever possible, to convey your good qualities?

I'm not looking to steal anyone's ideas, but I wouldn't' mind hearing some examples from the community.

"give us a list of 5 things that are interesting about yourself"

I asked a friend for help with that question and she had this to say about me:

Good at avoiding answering questions
Funny
Eat each type of food on my plate separately (example: first potatoes, then corn, then meat... no mix-matching)
Good at not finding a job
Very disciplined, healthy diet, exercising

Yes, I'm aware the above is probably not all that helpful. Here are a few of my own:

Write my own music, on the piano
Passion for learning
Love electronic, trance, and orchestral music
Geek for video games, computers, phones, and all cool technology

I've got a couple of ideas. I'll summarize them here:

"Stalked Across the City"

A story being in another city to watch fireworks with my 2 cousins and 2 brothers, and ending up on the wrong side of the city, on foot. Then being ditched by my two brothers and told to meet them on the other side of the city, where the fireworks are supposed to be. One we got to our destination, over an hour later, we find out my bros had been following us from afar the whole time.

"Car Impounded in the Wrong City"

The story of how a sports car, with 5 people and too much baggage stuffed inside, got a pulled over by a cop 2 minutes from our camping destination. It was a ticket for excessive speeding, which meant a hefty fine, and the car was to be impounded for 9 days. Meaning, we were trapped in a remote location, with a crap load of bags, and no way to get home again (we were not planning a 9 day stay).

"Crackhead in My Bathroom"

A story about a crackhead banging on my door at 4AM and somehow ending up inside my place claiming he had been kidnapped and barely escaped with his life. A police phone call ensued, and by the time they arrived, he had locked himself in my bathroom and was smoking crack, which my female room mate got to clean up afterwards.

... I'm trying to come up with some more. But in the meantime, do these have potential?

Ok, first off I'll agree with others, these are not the best starting points. Even though the story is mostly true, you should be willing to slightly bend the details.

Let's first go over the qualities: Avoiding answering questions could be reframed to "you'd make a good lawyer" ie verbally skillful. I'd forget the next 3, but discipline / diet / exercise is HUGE and could be the basis for qualities you want to convey... they are great to have.

So while I think you can come up with better stories, for the purpose of examples and helping you, I'm going to redo each story:

"Stalked Across the City"

A story where I heard about an amazing fireworks show in another city, and I took my brothers, 2 cousins and girlfriend at the time to the city, and we ended up about 3 miles from the show. My brothers are crazy and took off on their own, leaving me alone with 3 girls, my two cousins and gf. After pulling up a map, I led us through the city toward the show. We came across this crazy homeless guy too, he told me xxx(insert random interesting factoid). When I finally get us to the show, my brothers show up! It turns out they got lost and were embarrassed so they follow us from afar the entire way

See how we shift the focus of the story to you leading the girls around, and guiding your brothers even though they were embarrassed? Add in some detail like someone you met on the trip can give a good chance to share something interesting as well as spicing up the story.

"Car Impounded in the Wrong City"

Similar to previous story, shift the focus to how you led your group with the bags through getting trapped in a remote location.

One time we decided to go camping, and a buddy had a sick sports car available. So 5 of us pack inside. Us guys packed the minimum but the girls with us took way too much stuff(why do girls do that?-separate thread here). So of course my crazy friend is driving and speeding towards the campsite, and 2 minutes away a cop pulls us over and takes his license and impounds the car! This cop was identical to Barney Fife from griffon show, it was hilarious. So we are 2 miles from the campsite with all our bags and no car. (expand this next part:) So I lead us to the campsite, ration out our supplies and get more brought it by another friend, leading to an extra long trip and a really great time that started off crazy.

"Crackhead in My Bathroom"

I had the craziest thing happen, so I hear a knock at my door at 4am, go to check it out and find a smoking hot girl standing there. I'm thinking "thank you god!", but then she starts fidgeting like she is on drugs, now I'm just worried she is going to make a scene. She claimed she was kidnapped and a bunch of other crazy things, so I call the cops and let her inside my place so she isn't out wandering the streets. I'm sitting in the living room with this chick and my roommate Lisa, because I didn't want to leave Lisa alone with her. While the police are on their way, the crackhead girl ends up barricading herself in our bathroom smoking crack! The cops get there and it gets crazy but they finally take her away, leaving Lisa and me awake until like 7am cleaning up after a crackaddict.

By changing the addict to a hot female, then you can let her in the apartment to protect her from the streets. Similar story but see how it shifts the focus to how you are looking out for people? and make protecting your roommate a bigger deal, as well as mentioning your female roommate more often. Having a girl willing to live with you is a good sign to other women, and something to mention.
