Went out with a girl thursday. Went ok.. established a lot of rapport, but not very much touching (my sticking point). She really seemed like she wanted to see me again, but I regret not being a little bit more aggressive. I wasn't getting many signals to get physical. I pretty much though I wouldn't get anywhere.. we texted a little back and forth. She actually asked me to come out tonight, and I'm like.. oh what a great sign. She's initiating to come out and see me. I agree, she says, bar/pool/drinking 9. I'm like sounds good see you there. I get there, she's with a few of her girl friends. I make nice, I flirt a little. She's texting someone... she's like, I have another friend coming by.... his name is huge cockblock. He's really cool and funny. (she's talked about him before and is totally friendzoned) Anyway... He come's by.. and is totally cockblocking me. Every chance he can, he's touching her.. putting his arm around her. I'm thinking.. what the fuck. I don't even know what to do. I'm so baffled as to what is going on. She's paying way more attention to him than she is to me. I tried to be a bit more aggressive, got her up to dance.. played games with her that involved some touching. Had my arm around her, teased her. But her focus kept shifting towards him. I started to feel pretty pissed. Finally I try to isolate her. I say, "Hey, it's pretty smokey in here, want to step outside with me to get some air?" "Why?" "I'd just like to have a little more privacy so we can talk" "I'm good, thanks" After that, I just said, Ok, well, I'm going to leave. I texted her a little while saying, "I completely misread the situation" "Haha, what?" "I thought this was supposed to be a date" "oh sorry, it was just friends and stuff" "Ok cool, not looking to be friends" "I'm not sure what I'm looking for" "I get it, I've been there, but the next time we go out, it's going to be a date, and just you and me."

Need some advice on how I should have handled the situation. I feel I shouldn't even have texted her, but I felt pretty mad and wanted my mind to be at ease. I may have fucked up from the first date without being able to recover. FWIW, I did not exhibit any anger at all with my time with her, I tried to maintain my frame, and continued to have fun. I felt very weird that I had to FIGHT for her attention. I went through lulls of giving her no attention, and flirting. Nothing seemed to work.
