Girls don't like it when they're walking down the street and you're staring at them. Richard LaRuina has a good theory on this--they're afraid you're going to talk to them and they don't feel comfortable just doing it on the street. If you're on your phone/talking to a friend at the time, however, they're more likely to share eye contact and give you IOI's because they know you're not going to be able to say something immediately.

Good question. I notice this too and while decent looking, I've been told on multiple occasions that people expected me to be mean. Could no eye contact just mean shyness?

Wear dark sunglasses and walk around, your head facing straight, but move your eyes so you can see their eyes. When I do this, it doesn't look like I'm looking at them, and I find more girls looking over at me. As soon as I turn my head in their direction, they look down or away. It's kind of interesting to watch, so give it a try sometime and see if it works for you.

try smiling at them when you catch their eye. if they still look away, you might be doing something wrong with your appearance

Heh, I've been using this to my advantage lately. Prior to this year I'd never keep anyone's gaze for fear of them noticing me "staring." Now when I pass anyone - guy or girl - I make eye contact and hold it, though naturally, as I pass. People tend to look down. Even really big guys who could clearly kick my ass.

So yeah it's not the best pickup technique, but it's certainly done wonders for my confidence and presence in general.

I'm really good looking and have learned through the years that eye contact is key; it makes the PU fun. Gain eye contact, but let her initiate it, its a fine line, but thats the key.

Currently, not to sound rude, but to her you still seem like an AFC. Make her want to be in your presence; thats what PU is all about
