Word of warning

First of all, don't take MA advice from guys who throw around terms "alpha" and "beta" all the time just because they are jacked or keyboard warriors.

Most of the time these "warrior-lions" are insecure, ignorant and poorly calibrated. They get girls who are equally plain, confirming their own biases.

Physical confidence comes from

  1. Basic strength - Do a starting strength program

  2. Body control - Get into calisthenics after you have acquired starting strength

  3. The ability to handle yourself in a hostile situation

A) Mental discipline

B) Body language

C) Martial arts skills

Many Martial Arts are great if the group and teacher and sensei are great. But many are really difficult and requires more power and natural skill than the average guy has.

These are in my personal opinion, the three best martial arts to start with from scratch. I have personal training experience of Karate (main) Taekwondo and Judo. I have a passion for MA and have studied many arts in theory.

Martial arts

OBS! Look for SERIOUS and high quality groups only! Not so easy to find!

EDIT: Boxing and kickboxning could easily go here as well if you count it as MA.

1. Judo

  • Respect
  • Discipline
  • Injury prevention, toughens body
  • Basic self-defense that won't get you arrested
  • Fast to learn

This is more like comfy workout AND MA. NR 1 because anyone can start with this.

2. Old school Taekwondo

  • Speed
  • Self-defense
  • Discipline
  • Fast to learn
  • Attack power
  • Mental power
  • Reactions sharpen
  • Reading opponent

This is MA that delivers even more than judo (If you agile and strong enough at least) without requiring insane amount of dedication.

3. Brazilian ju-jutsu

  • Respect
  • Discipline
  • Superior Self-defense
  • Won't get you arrested
  • Basics fast to learn
  • Superior self-confidence and mental power

This is the most pure MA of these 3. Takes some guts, mental power and humility to start with, but insane gains.
