Alright Seddit, long time lurker, first time poster. You guys have all given me a lot of insight into self development and confidence and I figured it was time to do the same.

So a friend of mine recently asked me to start going to rehersals with him for a runway fashion show. I of course said yes. Awesome experience, most likely some pretty cool people, nothing to lose.

So first night I walk in, I swallow every bit of doubt I might have had and just start greeting everyone. First thing that happens? A girl I know is there and runs up to give me a flying hug while shouting my name. Social proof achieved.

The remainder of the night was fantastic, everyone was really great and had a great vibe. But the most important part?

IT WAS LIKE THAT BECAUSE I WAS LIKE THAT.

Energy. Is. Contagious. It is the MOST important aspect of game, inner and outer. The way you carry yourself, the way you act and behave, WILL rub off on people and they will respond to you accordingly.

Act like you're comfortable, act like you know what you're doing, and everyone will assume you are and that you do.

Now, on to the next night. There were a lot more people there than the previous night. I walk in, start saying what up to everyone I already met and introduce myself to the new faces. Instantly I see a girl that catches my eye.

Beautiful girl, beautiful black dress, just stunning. The moment I saw her I knew I had to make an approach.

Some time passes, the coordinaters of the show pair girls with guys. My previous partner wasn't there that night so I got paired with one of the coordinaters, which worked out in my favor because I made sure to match my energy with theres. It made me look proffesional and like I was meant to be there.

Everyone walks, and I see my oppuritunity. I walk up to her and who I assume is her friend and say they following:

"Hey! Have either of you ever done a fashion show before? This is my first time."

Easy, simple, smiles all around. There eyes lit up when I came to talk to them.

Interestingly enough, as good looking as everyone was, not a lot of guys were stepping out of their comfort zones, which ultimately made my value higher.

A little kino, a little eye contact, a little teasing, and I could tell I had both the girl and her friend interested. They reciprocated all my questions and asked questions of their own, laughed with me and it seemed like we had known each other for years.

We got called back to walk some more after that and I didn't get a chance to grab her number, which I fully plan to do at the next rehersal in one week.

I caught her eyeing me and after talking with her and her friend a few of the girls approached me and began conversing. It was just a solid night all around.

So tl;dr:

.Energy is infectious

.People will respond to how you behave and carry yourself

.Remind yourself that everyone there is just like you and is overly self critical, just like you. Set an example, be the one that lights up the room.

And, some advice. How would you guys approach getting her number next week? I was just gonna be straight up and directly say something like "hey, totally forgot to get your number last week, we should fix that." I'm pretty confident she'll say yes but input is always welcome.
