Tonight at the dance I probably got rejected like 3 times and succeeded like twice.

Congrats on the attempts, but those numbers are still way too close.

You should be getting rejected a lot more, a 3:2 ratio means you are staying in your safe zone, and only 5 attempts total means you are making a mistake I call "taking a breath".

You see a woman you like, you decide to go for it, you take a breath, and you go in. Wrong. Natural, but wrong.

The correct sequence is, you see a woman you like, you go in. C'est tout.

Correct social interactions are always automatic. If a stranger walked up to you and held out his hand, you would shake it. You wouldn't look at the hand, make a decision, take a breath, and shake his hand.

Talking to a woman should be like shaking a man's hand. Natural, automatic, immediate. Work on that.

I don't mean as this as any sort of criticism. It's a long road and congrats again on how far you've come.

The way I like to think about rejection is that it's like getting stung by a bee. It hurts for like 2 minutes, but then you realize it's not so bad

The key is that you had a great time. I know it feels like you've got to "lose the v card" or whatever your society has put in your head, but the key to being a confident mother fucker who gets shit done is to appreciate that having a great time is the only important thing. Easier said than done, I know. I felt the same way. But then you get to a point where sometimes you rather have a great night where you smile at 10 women and act like the life of the party than take one home just to fuck and go to sleep.

I'll probably get downvoted for this . .but I was shy in high school and my first year in college . . today you would never guess it . . but the one thing that got me over the hump of shy . .was a few things . . #1 - I realized everyone else there was just like me, a bit intimidated, trying to earn a degree, have fun, make friends and trying to get laid . . once you understand that everyone, the jock, the nerd, the TA's, everyone has one of those goals . .then you will feel more comfortable . . that small bit of commonality allowed me to then come to the realization that . . "Hey, you don't know me, you no nothing about me, so how can you make any decision about who am I?" . . I know this sounds bad . .but you have to have the attitude of "you don't know me, in fact, I'm doing YOU a favor, I'm a great guy and I know what I bring to the party, why shouldn't you be interested, I'm a pretty good guy" . . YEAH I know that sounds douchey, and arrogant . .but like I said . . it allows you to look in and think "I'm not bad, I have value" . .the confident attitude shows . . and if things don't work out . . fuck it . . what's the worst that can happen? A girl says NO, if that's the worst thing that has happened in your life lately . .then that's not bad FirstWorldProblems . . I'm sorry for ranting and typeing . .but reading this just brought back some of my college memories . . . Good luck bro . .you are on the right track!
