I've done some reading (The game and some other stuff) and now I feel confident enough to try some things out. My friend and I are going bowling today, and I was wondering if you had any tips for a complete beginner, especially ones that are specific to this location.

EDIT: Although the title would suggest otherwise, I am not seeking bowling tips.
