I met this very cute girl at a Halloween party on Saturday night. She was dressed as a nurse, I was dressed as Kenny Powers. Lots of good kino, dancing, a little bit of kissing.

Sunday I texted her around 5pm.

Me: hey naughty nurse, it's Kenny Powers aka cheddarchexmix. Last night was fun. You should come out with me tomorrow!

Her: Haha yeah it was. Should I come out? Where are you taking me?

Me: You should just say yes, it will be fun :)

Her: Well I have work until 7, I'll talk to you then.

Next day I texted her at 6.

Me: How's your day going? :) Come meet me tonight at [bar] at 9

[20 mins later] Her: Hey what are you doing? I just finished my shift.

Me: Just going to meet a buddy for dinner. Good to meet me at [bar] at 9?

[1 hour later] Her: Ooo something came up, sorry, can't make it. How about tomorrow at [other bar] at 8?

[20 min later] Me: I've got plans tomorrow. Wednesday?

Her: Sure, talk to you Wed!

[Wednesday afternoon] Me: Enjoying this freeze? :) Come out to the [some other bar] tonight at 9.

Her: Sure! Who else is coming?

Me: This really awesome guy I know named Kenny Powers and this girl named [Her] that I don't know about yet :) See you there!

Her: Sounds good!

There were a few weird things in this exchange.

  • The "Hey what are you doing" text was 20 mins after my text, I was like "huh??" But then last night I had texted her when I got to the bar, and it arrived on her phone at least 30 minutes after I sent it.
  • She left the responses a long time before cancelling Monday, I saw big red flaky flags, and didn't have my hopes up for Wednesday.
  • The "who else is coming" is a new one, nobody has ever asked me that when it's obviously a 1-1 date. I couldn't really tell if it was some weird shit test or if she really thought maybe others would be there, but I think I handled it OK.

Anyway, the date went well. We hung at the bar and had some drinks, then I told her we should go across the street to this other bar that has food. Lots of IOI's/kino and she was cracking up at even the stupidest of my jokes which is always a good sign. We ended the night with a nice mini-makeout session in the booth. She had work at 6am today and seemed pretty bent on getting sleep, so I didn't try to get her back to my place. I'll save that for next time.

I think I've seen this as a tip here, but I've found recently that incorporating at least 2 destinations in the date makes the date more fun and successful. I've now gotten into the habit of picking places where there is another cool bar very nearby. About 2 hours into the date I just say "hey let's get out of here and go to [bar]". I think it may increase the likelihood of her coming back to my place to. Walking between places is a nice changeup opportunity for kino escalation or making out too.
