Solo mission. Hired a baby sitter, mostly practice for tomorrow when there is no curfew. Started a conversation with every person that sat down next to me at the bar - found it easy to 'open', but struggled to keep it going. At the next bar, I approached an HB6 with 'cheers' and clinging my glass. I asked what the occasion was. She and two friends were in town a ski trip for the weekend. This should have been golden but I screwed it up! I kept getting IOI's, she picked up the conversation when it stalled, and as it was loud, we had to lean in frequently to hear each other. I think I blew it when I walked away in a failed attempt to DHV. When I came back, she was gone and I found her grabbing her coat and leaving with her friends.

On to the next bar. I used the same line 'What is the occasion? What brings you out tonight? It is well received by a 22 year old HB6. We launch into a conversation in which I reverted to my beta self by congrating her relentlessly on her marketing job blah blah. Her friends inform her that it time to leave.

On to the dance floor. Fuck it. I get to the middle of the dance floor and start moving. A girl turns to me and says " Who are you?" And this is where a new side comes out me - previously I would have politely extended my hand and given my name. Not anymore! Tonight I said "Who am I? Who am I? Who the fuck are you?" With a huge smile on my face. She laughed and said "Kara" and I replied, "Hi Kara, I'm too old for you" And you know what? she couldn't stand that I said it and came over and started grinding me. We danced for a bit until her friends came and took her to bar, and I figured I'd call it a night as it was a warm up for tomorrow.

My goal was to approach 3 women and get 2 numbers. I got no numbers, (I didn't even ask) but I did approach 3 women.

Concerns: I struggled to DHV and spent a good deal of time standing alone. I made it a point to strike up conversation with everyone around me as much as I could, but a good deal of time I was by myself.

Regrets - not approaching more women, not knowing how to engage them for longer.

Successes: I approached 3 women. 'I'm too old for you' - that shit works! baby steps - I still feel like a wuss and didn't meet the goal I set out for, but I am eager, not at all afraid to fail, and excited to hit it hard tomorrow.
