Greetings seddit!

Today I (finally) got this one girl's number from class. We have been flirting here and there since the beginning of class (3 weeks ago?) but I wasn't initially interested in her because for some reason, because it seemed like it was too easy, as she was showing ALOT of interest (looking over at me multiples times in class, laughing almost everytime I try to be funny, and whenever the teacher brings the class to another room she always tries to stand next to me) and it was somehow making me disinterested. Last week she started acting more aloof and not as into me and for some reason that triggered me to actually do something about this situation (is this normal?).

So fast forward to today's class and I decide that I will try to get her number. During class (we sit next to each other) and the lab right after I get her laughing a few times. On the walk to our cars after class I try to get her to laugh a few times to set a good mood. Before we split up to go to our cars I tell her:

Me: What time do you get out of class tomorrow?

Her: tells me her schedule

Me: Do you have work tomorrow?

Her: tells me when she has work (no work tomorrow)

Me: Here (hand her my phone) call your phone and i'll call you tomorrow

Apparently I rushed my words too fast or I didn't talk loud enough (I was slightly nervous) and she says:

Her: Wouldn't it be easier if I just put my number in your phone? (I think she thought that I told her to put my number in her phone as she pulled out her phone from her purse)

Me: That's what I said (I said it in an amused tone)

Her: OH! Ok (punches in her number)

She then holds my phone against her ear while holding her phone and says "How come it's not ringing?" I say "I don't know :D" and then I see her phone ring (woot no fake number). The phone was on her voicemail and I told her to leave herself a message. She then asks me what she should leave on the voicemail. For some reason this was the only thing I could think of: I grab the phone and in the deepest and creepiest voice I could muster, I say into the phone "GET OUT OF THE CAR" (tried to imagine what a stalker would say). Immediately she busted out laughing. Once I got back into my car, I started kicking myself for saying that. I immediately thought I should've said something like "Hey [her name], I saw the cute guy you were talking with in the parking lot; I think he's out of your league" (I saw a variation of this in one of the FRs from months ago). Oh well, I got the number (high five!).

Things I learned:

1.) I should've number closed earlier - Even if I wasn't initially interested I could've at least gotten her number so we could hang out and maybe she could introduce me to her friends. Or was it fine that I waited this long as we were going to see each other alot in class until the semester ends?

2.) I need to start kino ASAP - The most kino I have done with her was just touching her shoulder/arm and this was sporadic at that. Now whenever I try to initiate kino I feel kind of weird/unnatural. Can I still escalate kino with her without it feeling weird? Now I think i'm feeling one of the side effects of not initiating kino early on.

3.) I need to work on my convversation skills. Alot - The things we've talked so far have been mostly superficial stuff ( I haven't steered the convo in anyway to enable the kind of conversation in which I learn about her personality).

Tomorrow I am planning to call her when her class finishes and tell her that i'm heading to Starbucks before my class starts and to join me.

Now i've heard it said that if you have to ask for help with a certain girl you have already lost her, but what if she can't make it to Starbucks tomorrow?? Can I ask her to come with her friends to a bar my friends and I are going to later on that night? Or is 2 invitations to hangout in one day too much? And many times should I ask her to hangout before I should just stop?

edit: I don't have text for my phone so no texting T_T. How much of a disadvantage is that?

edit 2: Today, while I was walking to class, I call her but she doesn't pick up. I decided not to call a second time because for some reason while the phone was ringing, my heart started to race and I hung up after 5 rings. I immediately thought to myself, "Oh well if she wants to hangout she'll call back" and then proceeded to go to class.

During the middle of [a boring] class, I felt the phone vibrate in my pocket and sure enough it was her calling (cue the "Fuck Yeah" face). I wait 'til after class to call her back, but wait! There's more! She left a voicemail! In the voicemail she says why she didn't answer the phone (was in a library and her phone was on silent) and that whenever I had the time to call her back and she'll answer the phone; I'm being optimistic and would say her tone was slightly energetic.

But anyway I call her back and she can't meet up due to her studying for an exam that day with her friends. She then says to call her tomorrow and we'll meet up at Starbucks then. (BOrat voice) GREAT SUCCESS!

Thank you again seddit! Despite not being really good at any technique, it has at least given me more confidence. I can definitely say if the "me" version before stumbling upon seddit was put in the same stiuation I was in, my results would've been utterly abyssmal. So even if this thing with the girl fails and is a step back, I would still be 100 steps ahead from where I started.
