If you open the set you need to build some comfort before you introduce your friend.
Help your friend find common ground with the target when you introduce them. Stay in the conversation a bit to help him build comfort and DHV, once the ball gets rolling you isolate them, by occupying the targets friend(s) if necessary or just ejecting with an excuse (buy beer, say hello to some friends, bathroom etc.).
Remove obstacles.

I've done this a couple of times and this works great - the reason is that when you are obviously hitting it off with one of the girls, the entire atmosphere subtly changes and attraction/seduction is on everybody's mind - not least of the other girls' who wouldn't want to be left behind!

Done this many times when I realized the girl/s is/are not into me or I was just feeling lazy. I would just drag them over to my friends saying "You've got to meet my friends! You will like them.". Then I introduce each and everyone and then just of leave or stand by the least involved party. This got at least one of my friends laid two times proud :D Of course its up to them how it turns out after the handover.

I always introduce my friends on a high note and talk positively about them.

One of my favorite jokes is to assign superlatives. These are superlatives I'd actually assign if my main social circle was on a TV show or some shit!

One of my friends is tall, slender, and enjoys dressing nicely so I always jokingly introduce him to girls as the "looks" of the group. I know these fraternal twins that are relatively short but have a muscular frame, so I introduce them as the "brawns". Another friend, who usually organizes or plans our events, I introduce as the "masterminder". Of course, being the Internet nerd I am, I'm the "brains". >:3
